HTC has announced quite a few smartphones this year, and a number of those devices were actually high-end handsets. HTC has showcased their 2015 flagship, One M9, during the Mobiel World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. This Taiwan-based smartphone OEM has actually released a number of high-end offerings following the release of the One M9. HTC has released the One M9+, One E9+, Butterfly (2015) and One ME devices. Unfortunately for users outside of Asia, most of these devices were introduced as Asian exclusives.
A few weeks after the announcement of the One M9+ and One E9+ rumors started popping up and saying that one of these two devices might launch outside of Asia. Well, that has just happened, HTC has officially announced the One M9+ handset for the European market. The HTC One M9+ is essentially a different, and a higher-end variant of the One M9. This handset sports a 5.2-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super LCD3 display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB). This handset is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X10 (MT6795T) 64-bit octa-core processor along with the PowerVR G6200 GPU for graphics. The 20-megapixel camera (DuoCamera setup, the upper camera is for depth perception) is located on the back of the One M9+ along with a dual-LED, dual tone flash. The 4-megapixel UltraPixel shooter (2µm pixel size) is available on the front side of this device, and the non-removable 2,840 battery is also a part of this package. This device is made out of metal, and it sports a physical home button below the display which doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The HTC One M9+ measures 151 x 72 x 9.6mm, while it weighs 168 grams.
The HTC One M9+ will be available in select European markets in Silver on Gold, Gold on Gold and Gunmetal Grey color variants. The company hasn’t released any specifics regarding its availability though, we still don’t know how much will it cost nor when will you be able to purchase it. HTC still has to list the markets this smartphone will be available in as well, so stay tuned for that.
