Street Fighter V Finals Tonight, Capcom Pro Tour DLC Details

It’s been an incredible weekend at EVO 2016 so far with the largest fighting game tournament in the world delivering some unbelievable moments from the best players from all over the globe. The action is far from over as the Street Fighter V finals are set to go live tonight at 7:00pm Pacific Time!

On top of all the amazing matches we’ve seen throughout the weekend, there was also a ton of exciting news to come from the event. PlayStation and Capcom announced a new partnership with PS4 being the presenting sponsor of the Capcom Pro Tour! The Capcom Pro Tour has seen astounding growth over the past few years with the first six-figure check being awarded to the winner of Capcom Cup 2015. Now, both PlayStation and Capcom are doubling down in 2016 to accelerate the growth of the fighting game community with this new partnership.

A large component of this partnership is the newly announced Capcom Pro Tour-themed DLC for Street Fighter V, which features new premium costumes for Chun-Li and Cammy, an additional mystery costume and the official stage of the CPT called the “Ring of Destiny.” With the PS4 being the official console of the Capcom Pro Tour, we’ve also put together an exclusive bundle that includes the three costumes, the stage, plus and an additional color for all 22 characters and two new titles.

Capcom Pro Tour DLC

This is an exclusive, limited-time offer where the proceeds from the DLC will be reinvested back into the Capcom Pro Tour and help boost the prize pool of Capcom Cup 2016 based on the number of downloads. While Capcom will always continue to invest into the Capcom Pro Tour, this is a great way for fans to show their support of the league and be part of history as we’ll have the largest prize payout in fighting game history at Capcom Cup 2016 with the support of the fans.

We’ll have even more announcements in the future, including the upcoming mystery costume that is part of this Capcom Pro Tour DLC collection. This costume will have a large impact on the future of the Capcom Cup and we believe fans we’ll be very excited once we reveal the details.

The King of Fighters XIV Demo Out July 19, Fighter Guide

Like a burning knuckle to the face, The King of Fighters XIV caps off its successful showing at EVO 2016 with a special surprise: the game’s demo will launch this Tuesday July 19!

With seven playable characters, the demo is just a taste of what awaits with the full 50-character roster when the game arrives on August 23. The King of Fighters XIV marks the first time the series (which has been around since 1994, by the way) has been rendered in 3D. Since seeing is believing, the demo will show you the latest evolution for the franchise.

But for long-time fans and newcomers alike, SNK has been taking extra special care to ensure the game is balanced and refined. It’s the best enhancement of the series since KOF ’98, with a complete overhaul to Combos and MAX Mode to make it more approachable for beginners, while remaining the most competitive entry in the history of the series.

At its core is the three-on-three team mechanic where players will have to pick their strongest three players from a roster of 50 characters and duke it out until there’s only one team left standing.

And to get you ready for the demo on Tuesday, we’ve gone ahead and compiled some tips from our ace play testers for each of the seven characters available in the demo to help you get a head start!

Kyo Kusanagi

Style: Standard fighter
Strengths: Good attack normals, good special attacks, armor properties on some moves, easy combos
Weaknesses: no glaring weaknesses
Difficulty: 2/5
Notes: For veteran players and newcomers alike, Kyo is a great character to choose. In addition to his old moves returning, he has even more follow-up attacks for his special moves, giving him a lot of threatening new options for offense. Try using the two hits of his command move, 88 Shiki, to react and activate into MAX mode for high damage combos. Standing HP into down-forward HK is a good combo starter.

Mai Shiranui

Style: Zoner, keep opponents at a distance
Strengths: Really good normal attacks, excellent EX special attacks in Max Mode
Weaknesses: no big combos, low damage
Difficulty: 2/5
Notes: Her fan projectile can be used to harass opponents, especially the EX version which will have a follow-up that hits on the way down. To deal with her projectiles, players will eventually have to jump. This easily sets them up to be countered by Mai’s flame-pillar super, Kagerou no Mai. EX Kachousen in Max Mode are excellent tools for pressuring opponents into making mistakes. Her standing HP is a useful tool in most circumstances.

Iori Yagami

Style: Standard fighter
Strengths: Fast attack normals, decent special attacks, easy combos
Weaknesses: no glaring weaknesses
Difficulty: 2/5
Notes: Similar to Kyo, players who used Iori previously will feel right at home with his new version — he is an offensive monster when played properly. Try making use of short hops combined with his jumping HP to mount an assault on enemies. Use Max Mode in combos for extreme damage. Forward LP and its follow-up are useful as a combo starter.

Sylvie Paula Paula

(Series newcomer)
Style: Battery, builds meter for team
Strengths: Builds power gauge really well, has great EX special attacks in Max Mode
Weaknesses: short range attack normals, no big combos outside of cornering opponents
Difficulty: 1/5
Notes: Her command list is simple but effective. Use Denki Kaijin, her electricity attack, to poke at enemies and annoy them. Kaiten Coil, her uppercut kick, also makes for a solid anti-air. Her level 3 super, Mechahaya Reboot, is unique in that you can continue your combo after hitting the opponent with it. Use Max Mode outside of combos for access to EX Dischar-Jing (auto-guard properties) and EX Denki Kaijin (crumples opponent for a combo).

King of Dinosaurs

(Series newcomer)
Style: Grappler, goes for big throws
Strengths: Good damage on special attacks, good throw mixups
Weaknesses: very slow, gets pressured easily, no real combos
Difficulty: 3/5
Notes: Like most grapple characters, he is slow at moving around but becomes much more effective at close-range. Having strong patience will pay off the most when using King of Dinosaurs. The HP and EX versions of his Zetsumetsu Hurricane have armor frames, allowing him to absorb attacks up-close and plow through with a powerful command grab. Apply pressure with Ankylo Hammer and use Break to go for Zetsumetsu for the mixup. If backward LP (Yucatan Punch) is landed, he can go into Ankylo Hammer or Climax move for serious damage.

Shun’ei

(Series newcomer)
Style: A mix of Zoner and Combo-heavy
Strengths: High damage, excellent EX special attacks in Max Mode, great mobility
Weaknesses: Short range attack normals, most special attacks are unsafe
Difficulty: 4/5
Notes: This character has powerful EX special moves and is most effective with MAX mode activated. Because of his dependency on meter, however, it may be a good idea to place him on the back of the team so that other characters can build meter for him to use. His air dash grants him unique mobility options never before seen in a KOF game. Primarily uses Max Mode outside of combos for access to big damaging tools. Scarlet Phantom and EX Scarlet Phantom are primary starters and approach tools. Use Thruster Vision to maneuver and throw the opponent off.

Nelson

(Series newcomer)
Style: Command normal chains, chain-heavy
Strengths: lots of mixup potential, can pressure the opponent very well
Weaknesses: no use for Max Mode, no real combos (uses a chain system)
Difficulty: 5/5
Notes: His chain of attacks have a lot of branching pathways, so he’s great for players who like to mix up their offense with unpredictable patterns. When playing as Nelson, try to stick to your opponents and don’t give them a chance to breathe. Nelson should not prioritize meter and is best played as a “battery character” on point position. He can open up the opponent with a lot of high/low mixups. Very difficult character for beginning players to use.

Oh, and because every good fighting game needs a villain, here’s a look at the man-mountain behind the King of Fighters tournament, Antonov.

With his glorious mutton chops, imposing physical presence, and decidedly awesome champion belt, Antonov is the boss who awaits you as you and your team ascend the ranks of the King of Fighters tournament.

Sure, he’s an eccentric billionaire who bought the rights to the King of Fighters brand in order to host a new tournament, and granted, he’s already proclaimed himself the One True King of Fighters, so I guess your only option at this point is to saddle up with the team of your choice and fight like hell to unseat this unhinged giant.

Garou: Mark of the Wolves Returns on PS4 and PS Vita

We at SNK know how excited fighting game fans are during EVO. To celebrate, together with SIEA Third Party Production, we’re pleased to announce that our next game to hit PlayStation Store will be the legendary Neo Geo classic Garou: Mark of the Wolves on both PS4 and PS Vita — with cross buy support!

This upcoming version, developed with Code Mystics, Inc., will once again have cross play functionality and of course online multiplayer as well.

25th Anniversary of the Fatal Fury Series

Some fans may ask why we’re announcing our latest PlayStation game at this time. When we asked the PlayStation Nation which Neo Geo classic they would like to see most on PSN, there were a huge number of fans who voted for Mark of the Wolves. Additionally, the beloved Fatal Fury series celebrates its 25th anniversary.

For the staff here at SNK, there was little hesitation in this decision.

Gallery Mode and Sound Test Features

Both the PS4 and PS Vita versions will feature an illustrious Gallery Mode, where you’ll be able to unlock many stunning pieces of Mark of the Wolves and Fatal Fury series art through gameplay.

Furthermore, Garou’s original soundtrack will be available to sample in the game menu. We want you to feel the real Garou / Fatal Fury fever along with your memories of the Neo Geo system.

High-quality Netcode

For this title, we at SNK have decided to adopt Code Mystics’ proprietary netcode once again, which was used on our previous Neo Geo classic The Last Blade 2 and received praise from both fans and the press. The team in Vancouver is doing a fantastic job on Garou’s online multiplayer, giving new life to a legendary fighting game classic and ensuring the online gameplay brings SNK fans and series newcomers a great experience similar to the good ol’ days in the arcades.

We’ll be sure to come back with more information on Mark of the Wolves and other upcoming releases from SNK. Please stay tuned for more announcements on PlayStation.Blog!

Call of Duty World League Stage 2 Finals Live This Weekend

August of 2015 Activision announced the Call of Duty World League. Just shy of a year later, we are nearing the end of the inaugural year of a dedicated league for Call of Duty, a first for Activision.

Since the beginning, PlayStation has been part of this journey with us. Beginning in January 2016, we kicked off our first official matches. Looking ahead to this weekend, it’s hard to believe that the end of the Stage 2 competition is upon us.

We’ve seen some amazing moments and great gameplay that have left fans and pros amazed. For example, there was an epic Search and Destroy run that decided a match late in Stage 1, a player who took matters into his own hands against three opponents in the European region, and an Uplink play that has been identified as one of the best moves in Call of Duty gameplay.

More than a few players have approached us during the year with appreciation for the developer and publisher support behind the CWL. This has been something that players have said they were hoping would happen, and now to see it continue to unfold is exciting. The feedback has been the same from the community and the amateur players. The CWL’s goal is to grow Call of Duty esports across the board. Amateur players widen the talent pool and help create the drama and excitement at open live events. Fans are always on our mind and the CWL has done a lot to improve the fan experience from broadcast to live events to creating the biggest Call of Duty fan event at Call of Duty XP.

Call of Duty World League

To catch up to where we are today, the end of Stage 1 had two great teams in North America come down to the wire, as Optic Gaming took a final round, final map win to beat Rise Nation in an instant classic. Stage 2 did not disappoint either, as the final day of regular matches came down to four teams fighting for three spots at Stage 2 finals. It’s because of this exciting gameplay week in and week out that our fan base continues to grow. More than 850 million minutes of the CWL have been watched so far and we still have some of the biggest events still to go.

As a league, there are still things we are always improving and evolving. There have been a lot of great things to come into play, like the BO3 Live Event Viewer. The team at Treyarch brought the highest level of competitive action directly in-game in Black Ops III for PS4, so fans could watch CWL matches without leaving the game.

We’ve worked closely with our friends at MLG to create a smooth broadcast directly to the console. And, between Stage 1 and Stage 2, we also started the “Match of the Week.” This was a way to highlight the best match-up of any given week, and feature it with a dedicated broadcast. We took this same idea and created the “Stage 2 Showdown” on the last day of Stage 2. It was a key event and the stakes were high, as four teams were competing for three spots to qualify for the Stage 2 finals.

With the conclusion of Stage 2, all eyes are going to be on the CWL Championship at Call of Duty XP this September. You’ll see 32 teams from North America, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand competing for a $2 million prize pool on-site — the largest single event prize pool in Call of Duty history. This prize is part of the more than $3.5 million total prizing the CWL will have awarded this year, another first for Call of Duty. A full month of online qualifiers and tournaments await fans and players alike, as anyone with the ability and the dedication has a chance to earn their spot in CWL Champs qualifiers.

Through July and August, we will be in the midst of the Road to Champs. Immediately after Stage 2 Finals, the ANZ and EU regions will compete in their online qualifiers (July 22-24) to determine the final teams that will represent those regions at the CWL Championship. For North America, there is one more chance to earn CWL Pro Points at a live event during the Call of Duty MLG Orlando Open (August 5-7). The North American CWL Championship online qualifier will take place the very next weekend (August 12-14). Once we know all the qualifiers, we have plans to get the community involved as the teams get ready for the biggest Call of Duty competition of the year at Call of Duty XP.

This is just the start. We look forward to the future with great excitement. The Call of Duty World League is going to continue to get better week to week and year to year, and we hope you will be part of the journey.

If you are interested in learning more about Call of Duty esports and the CWL, please visit CallofDuty.com/esports. You can also check out the action of the Stage 2 finals this weekend (July 14-17) at www.twitch.com/callofduty.

Experience Zero Gravity Space Exploration with Adrift on July 15

Hey everyone, my name is Adam Orth. I’m the CEO/Creative Director at Three One Zero. We are so excited to announce that Adrift is releasing for PS4 on PlayStation Store in North America and Europe on July 15.

From the very beginning, our dream was to release Adrift as a PS4 title. My partner Omar Aziz and I sat in a tiny office at a shared desk in Santa Monica, CA and plotted out exactly how to get to this point. It feels incredible to have finally achieved it. We can’t wait for you to experience the game.

I’ve prepared an Adrift FAQ to get everyone up to speed on the game ahead of launch:

What is Adrift?
Adrift is a non-violent, narrative-driven FPX (first-person experience) where the focus is exploration, environment, narrative, and light game mechanics. Our small independent team is made up of veteran AAA game developers. We’ve collectively worked on many AAA shooters, so the idea of making a non-violent FPX was something really exciting to us and a challenge we immersed ourselves in as developers.

What kind of game is Adrift?
Adrift is hard to categorize, but it has a little bit of a lot of things. There’s action, simulation, exploration, mechanics, objectives, puzzles and storytelling. Mostly, we like to think of Adrift as an experience and a meditation revolving around the fantasy of an astronaut in peril.
Many people use the film Gravity as a comparison, but Adrift is actually closer to the films 2001: A Space Odyssey and Moon in terms of experience, tone and theme.

What other games is Adrift similar to?
If you enjoy games like Firewatch, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Gone Home, Dear Esther and Proteus, we think you will appreciate and love Adrift.

How much does Adrift cost?
Adrift will sell for $19.99.

Will there be a physical/retail version of Adrift?
Currently, there are no plans for physical or retail.

How long is Adrift?
An average playthrough of Adrift is 4 hours. It can be shorter or longer, depending on the amount of exploring you do.

What is Adrift about?
Adrift is the story of Commander Alex Oshima who wakes up floating amongst the debris of the destroyed Northstar IV space station with no memory of who she is or of the catastrophic event that took the lives of her crew and a badly damaged EVA suit slowly leaking oxygen.

What do you do in Adrift?
As the only survivor, your goals in Adrift are simply to stay alive and get home safely.
You accomplish this by exploring the wreckage of the Northstar IV in zero gravity, searching for oxygen resources, repairing your damaged EVA suit and re-activating the station’s 4 core system mainframes in order to be able to operate and launch the station’s EEV escape craft.

How is the story delivered in Adrift?
The narrative in Adrift is delivered in 6 unique ways:

  • Audio logs
  • Audio terminals
  • Email terminals
  • Mission Control communications
  • Satellite news broadcasts
  • HAN-IV ADMINISTRA (Northstar IV Computer Assistant)

How is the story told in Adrift?
Just like the Northstar IV station, your EVA suit, and Alex Oshima herself, the story/narrative in Adrift is broken. It’s meant to be discovered as seeds that give you brief glimpses into the lives of Alex and the crew members who did not survive. These seeds allow you grow and create your own version of the story. There is no real, traditional game story structure. It’s up to you to hunt down as much or as little as you like as you explore the wreckage.

How was Adrift created?
Adrift was created using Unreal Engine 4.

Are there multiple endings in Adrift?
Yes.

Do your actions in-game affect the outcome of Adrift?
Absolutely.

What are the gameplay mechanics in Adrift?
Adrift revolves around the player’s EVA suit and has three main gameplay mechanic/systems:

  • EVA Movement: Adrift takes full advantage of zero gravity, physics and the weightlessness of space. Your EVA suit is operated via intuitive controls mapped to the DualShock 4 that allow players to manipulate and move through the environment in 360°.
  • EVA Oxygen: Your EVA Propulsion system is damaged and uses oxygen as an emergency propulsion resource. Players must carefully monitor and manage their EVA oxygen level via HUD meter in order to utilize life support and propulsion. Many moment-to-moment decisions have to be weighed carefully as using your shared resource affects everything you do.
  • EVA Repair: As each core mainframe system is brought back online, you are able to repair 4 areas of your EVA suit: Oxygen (overall suit capacity), Propulsion (extra speed boost), Mobility (overall movement speed), and Integrity (oxygen leak repair).

Are there multiple gameplay modes in Adrift?
Yes. In addition to the single player experience, Adrift also features:

  • EVA Training: An unlimited training environment where players can master the use of their undamaged EVA suit.
  • EVA FREE: Completing each of the 4 game environments unlocks an unlimited oxygen version of each environment where players can explore stress-free, take and share screenshots and stream their gameplay sessions (Note: Trophies can’t be earned in EVA FREE).

Are there Trophies in Adrift?
Absolutely!

Who created the music for Adrift?
Adrift utilizes several well-known classical piano pieces that were performed by Brian Bell of Weezer and features several original music pieces composed and performed by Adam Orth.

What can I expect from Adrift?
Our goal for Adrift is to give you the ultimate astronaut-in-peril fantasy. We want to blow you away with stunning visuals, challenge you with zero-g movement and physics, scare you with the danger of space and most importantly: tell you an emotional story about human characters within a rich, deep universe and fiction.

Where can I learn more about Adrift?
For more about the game, visit Adrift’s website or check out its Twitter account.

Adrift launches on July 15. We hope you love it. Good luck out there, commander…

What Can You Do in No Man’s Sky?

Hi everyone! So we’re starting the countdown to the launch of No Man’s Sky on August 9. With just a few short weeks until you can get your hands on the game, we wanted to tackle one of the questions we’ve seen crop up a few times: what do you get to do in No Man’s Sky?

As Sean Murray from Hello Games has talked about before, there are four key pillars to the game: explore, trade, fight, and survive. Some of you may have seen Sean’s video with Anthony Carboni in which he talks through the game in great detail, but for those of you that haven’t, we’ve pulled together a series of short videos that highlight each of these key pillars.

Without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to the Explore video. Keep an eye out during the coming weeks as we’ll be dropping new videos showing the highlights of what each pillar means to a player in No Man’s Sky.

With more than 18 quintillion planets to be explored across billions of miles of space, there’s plenty to be seen in No Man’s Sky. As the discoverer of flora, fauna, and even planets, you’ll be able to name your discoveries and claim them to be seen by fellow space pioneers.

Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Alone With You Launching August 23 on PS4, PS Vita

Hello again, PlayStation fans! We’ve been on the dark side of a faraway planet for a while, but we’re finally ready to share the (gasp) launch news about Alone With You!

What is Alone With You again?

Alone With You is a narrative-focused adventure game for PS4 and PS Vita from the creator of the indie horror hit Home. You’re the last surviving member of a doomed space colony, and you need to work together with your troubled AI companion to escape the planet before it implodes.

When can you play it?

Remember when we said “Spring?” It turns out that the seasons work a little differently on our remote colony planet, so what we really meant was August 23. That’s right, you’ll be playing Alone With You on both PS4 and PS Vita very soon — and the game is cross buy, so you get both versions no matter where you prefer to play.

What do you do in Alone With You?

There are more than 12 missions in the game where you explore, use your scanner, engage in conversation, dig up old artifacts, ride rickety elevators, figure out pass codes, fix drones, and piece together dozens of intertwining narratives, among many other things. Gameplay is fluid and fast as you unlock the mysteries of the doomed space colony you’re so desperately trying to escape.

Because the game is narrative-focused and has a day-by-day mission structure, you can play it all in one go — which will take several hours — or at your own pace. Need to return to the game in the middle of a mission? Your diligent AI pal will remind you what you need to do.

What’s this about “romance?”

Have you ever experienced a sweet, summer love? Or maybe survived a few awkward meetings from an online dating app? Then you’ll know that relationships can be a little weird. So it is in Alone With You, where the only people you have to talk to aren’t people at all — other than your AI companion, your coffee dates are with four very different colonists, who happen to be holograms. Because they’re dead.

Each of these four special people — Winnie, Jean, Leslie, and Pierre — have their own histories, hang-ups and perspectives on what went wrong at the colony while they were alive, but they need you to figure out what happened to them, and give them the closure they deserve. You’ll get to really know their personalities as you spend time with them, make decisions in conversations, and help them discover clues about their own lives while you’re out on missions.

So what makes the game special?

The game’s end-of-the-world scenario means you’ll have to make some tough decisions, and some players will want to play multiple times to experience everything Alone With You has to offer. We’re happy to announce that the game’s Trophies — which, yes, includes a Platinum — encourage exploring different narrative avenues and learning everything there is to know about this unfortunate colony and the people who lived there.

And while we’re exploring, have we mentioned the amazing soundtrack? Composer Ivor Stines has created a completely original score with more than 30 tracks that you’ll have on rotation long after you finish the game — you can hear one of them in the new launch trailer featured above.

The whole team would like to thank everyone who’s played the game at shows like PlayStation Experience, and who have expressed their excitement for the title. We can’t wait for you to finally get your hands on Alone With You, and see how your adventures unfold.

Headlander Comes to a PS4 Near You on July 26

In the future, we all dream of waking up to a beautiful utopia of hoverboards, clean air, and flying cars. But the future’s rarely what we’ve idealized, and in Headlander, you wake up on a derelict spaceship to the stark news that you are the last organic life left in the known universe and Methuselah, the leader of the robot society that has supplanted humanity, wants you dead.

Oh — and to top that off, you’re just a head. In a space helmet. With a rocket booster attached to it.

That’s just the start of Headlander, Adult Swim Games and Double Fine Productions’ side-scrolling action-adventure game heavily inspired by science fiction films of the 1970s.

At the start of the game you can select from three different heads as your player character, and solving the mystery of who you are and why you’re the only human left is one of the major plot points of the game. Luckily, you can dock that noggin into plenty of other things — humanoid Citizen and Shepherd bodies, robot dogs, turrets, computer terminals, and robot vacuum cleaners; anything with a universal docking ring will accept the connection.

The game world is a huge sprawling network that all kicks off in the Pleasure Port, a futuristic space resort where Citizens relax in locations like the Fondlarium and Boob Tubery while Shepherds patrol and keep the peace. Each Shepherd has color-coded security clearances so bouncing from one body to another becomes crucial to traversing the game’s world. Additionally, with each Shepherd body step up the ROYGBIV color spectrum, your lasers will become more powerful and bounce an additional time off walls. Violet lasers in close quarters can be challenging to maneuver around when you’re just a head!

With the helpful voice of Earl in your helmet, you navigate each area and find transfiber nodes that’ll grant your head new abilities. Those combined with an upgrade tree with even more abilities provide you with a lot of freedom in approaching combat — whether it’s on a Shepherd body or just as a head (each has a separate health gauge). Do you go in guns blazing? Maybe you’d rather stand back or duck behind cover and target/shoot off enemy heads with more precision. Or pop your head off and vacuum the heads of your enemies. Deflecting an enemy’s fire right back at them with your bounce shield is especially satisfying.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the game’s release on July 26, 2016.

Reus Brings Terraforming Fun to PS4 in Q3 2016

Fans of real-time strategy and simulation games, get ready — god-sim Reus is coming to PS4 in Q3 2016! Later this year, you will be able to control the game’s four recognizable giants, each with their own abilities, to create and evolve certain parts of the planet’s nature.

Create seas, deserts, forests, and swamps. Combine powers to make plants, trees, animals and mines. As the world takes shape, tiny humans will start to settle and create villages. It’s up to you to determine how well your giants will take care of the humans. Will you help them grow and develop? Even spoil them wherever you can? Every aspect of a planet will create different challenges and opportunities for the inhabitants of your world, so try out lots of combinations to see what works and what doesn’t.

You start out with the 30 minute mode called “Era,” in which you have to get your planet as evolved as possible within the time limit. While playing, you will unlock several developments and power-ups if you do well. With those, you will be able to evolve the world further and unlock longer “Era” modes (60 minutes and 120 minutes). If that sounds overwhelming, you can always try the beginner and freeplay modes. In the latter, you can play as long as you want, but you will not earn any developments. Perfect for stress-free playing and practice!

You can befriend the humans in villages around the world, but be careful — they can get a bit spoiled and attack you. If you are on good terms with different villages, they can send ambassadors to travel on the backs of your giants (don’t worry, they are not heavy!), which will let you unlock new abilities. A combination of different ambassadors will give you different powers to use, so be sure to befriend all of your villagers!

This giant adventure will launch later this year on PS4. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months!

GTA Online: Cunning Stunts Now Available

Buckle up and prepare to experience Southern San Andreas from a whole new perspective. Today, Cunning Stunts takes GTA Online racing to epic new heights with a series of 16 brand-new, high-octane Stunt Races that feature everything from winding tubular tracks amongst Los Santos’ tallest skyscrapers to technical courses through canyons, over water and across the desert. Stunt Races utilize ramps, loops, wall rides, tubes, raised tracks and dynamic objects for a radically new take on GTA Online racing.

This is unlike anything you’ve seen before: tracks coiling up into the sky, skyscraper jumps, turbo-boosted corkscrews at 20,000 feet… and that’s before you get to the giant bowling pins and the rings of fire.

Stunt Races

Races run the gamut with unique locations across San Andreas and feature harrowing heights, incredible speeds and a dazzling spectacle of fireworks, lights, sounds and stomach-churning twists and turns. Rockstar-created Stunt Races at launch include:

Canyon Crossing | City Air | Downtown Loop | Duel | East Coast | Maze Bank Ascent | Nightlife | Over and Under | Plummet | Racing Alley | Rally | Splits | Threading the Needle | Trench I | Turbine | Vinewood Downhill

To get instant access to these brand-new Stunt Races packed with like-minded adrenaline junkies, just look out for the pink Stunt Series blips scattered across Los Santos and Blaine County, and enter one to get taken straight into a series of Stunt Races.

Premium Races

For elite level racers seeking more high-stakes matchups, Cunning Stunts also features new Premium Races where you can compete against seven opponents for winner-take-all glory, placing your bets and putting faith in your skills for a chance at prize payouts bigger than any other race. And while there may not be any GTA$ for second place, all competitors are rewarded with Triple RP for completing a Premium Race. To keep the competition sharp and balanced among the racing elite, Premium Races are locked to a specific vehicle or vehicle class and all competitors are required to own the vehicle or a vehicle within the set class. These races are also only available for a limited time – keep an eye on the Newswire for weekly schedules. From now through Monday, July 18th, enter the yellow Premium Race blip at Legion Square, shell out your entry fee, and take on seven rivals who all reckon they have what it takes in that day’s particular scheduled Race:

  • Tuesday, July 12th: Maze Bank Ascent (Sports)
  • Wednesday, July 13th: Duel (Muscle)
  • Thursday, July 14th: Splits (New Vehicle – Brioso)
  • Friday, July 15th: Vinewood Downhill (Motorcycles)
  • Saturday, July 16th: Racing Alley (Sports)
  • Sunday, July 17th: Canyon Crossing (Super)
  • Monday, July 18th: Turbine (Off-road)

New Vehicles, Clothing and More

It’s a brave new stunt-filled world out there in GTA Online, and you’re going to need some serious horsepower if you want to keep up. Lucky for you, 13 vehicles new to GTA Online are here to meet your every need: from the avant-garde stylings of the RE-7B to the utter brutality of Vapid’s Trophy Truck, no matter how unhinged your heart’s desires we’ve got you covered.

  • Super: Annis RE-7B, Emperor ETR1, Progen Tyrus
  • Sports: Lampadati Tropos Rallye, Obey Omnis
  • Compacts: Grotti Brioso R/A
  • Off Road: Vapid Desert Raid, Vapid Trophy Truck
  • Motorbikes: Nagasaki BF400, Western Gargoyle
  • Muscle: Declasse Burger Shot Stallion, Vapid Pisswasser Dominator, Bravado Redwood Gauntlet

And now available in retailers across Los Santos, a cutting edge range of extreme, race-themed fashions. Flaunt your corporate ties with brand-sponsored racing jerseys, deck yourself in head-to-toe racing gear, or go full method in a stuntman suit. You may be little more than a blur, but that’s no reason not to look the part.

There’s also 50 new tattoos and lots of new features – including new helmet visor animations and a complete re-tooling of the Player Interaction Menu which includes the ability to choose your default Racing Outfit.

Lots More Coming Including the Stunt Race Creator

Over the next three weeks, look for more Stunt Races and vehicles to be added to GTA Online as part of Cunning Stunts, culminating in the release of the Stunt Race Creator on August 2nd, which will give the amazingly talented GTA Online Creator community the opportunity to tap into hundreds of Stunt Props along with new features and improvements to forge the most outrageous stunt tracks of their dreams.

Event Week Bonus July 12 – 18th

Pay homage to Jock Cranley’s glory days as a stuntman by unlocking the exclusive Black Jumpsuit which bears his name. Simply log-in to GTA Online any time this week and your Black Jumpsuit will be automatically added to the Special Items in your character’s Wardrobe. This is the perfect outfit for staring down your enemies on the starting grid of one of the new Stunt Races, or for enjoying the view from your Nagasaki BF400 as you sail through a fiery ring on your way to victory.

With brand new vehicles to purchase and collect, we’re sure you’re itching for garage space to store them. This week take advantage of 20% discounts on purchases of any Property that comes with a Garage INCLUDING Garages themselves. This applies to all Apartments, Penthouses and Stilt Houses, so as if the extra parking wasn’t enough reason, you also get a brand new home to lay your helmet. There’s 15% off select car mods this week including Brakes, Suspension and Engine mods. Make sure your ride is fully tuned to max out the air time on those jumps.
