YouTube is currently testing a new loop button. In other words, users will no longer have to hit the replay button.
It is worth mentioning here that the loop feature is already available for web users. YouTube is planning to roll out this much-needed feature for those who browse the app on their mobile phones.
A new loop button for the YouTube mobile app would help users avoid hitting the replay button every time they want to watch a video all over again. This loop feature is available on most music streaming platforms.
Considering that YouTube has a lot of world music, a loop button is an essential feature. In an attempt to become a bit more music-friendly, YouTube recently introduced listening controls, which was originally spotted by 9to5Google.
YouTube loop button is currently undergoing tests
YouTube has already started testing loop video features with some users, according to DroidMaze. While it seemed like a super limited test back then, more and more users now claim to have seen it.
Those who do not still see it on their phones or accounts will have to be a little patient until the feature makes its way to them. Meanwhile, hitting the replay button will be the only solution, although it requires manual intervention.
YouTube’s new loop button will appear as an additional option on the three-dot menu in the app. The loop video feature will come in handy when you want to listen to a song or watch a video several times.
YouTube is adding another feature for smartphone users
It is quite surprising that the loop video feature hasn’t already been implemented on mobile. While it already exists on the web, the option is hidden under the right-click menu on videos. It could have been placed near the play/pause buttons for easy visibility.
Aside from adding a new loop button for the app, YouTube will launch another feature that allows app users to clip videos, DroidMaze reported. The company is currently testing Clip with more users.
The Clip feature will allow users to make 60 seconds video clips from existing videos, which can be shared with a different link. This new feature is available on both iOS and Android.
Some Twitter users suggest YouTube for Android TV will introduce a slew of new features such as video description. It is worth noting that the links that users add in the description will not work on TV. Users will not be able to open these links from TV either.
It remains to be seen how YouTube will roll out these features in its next updates. These features are currently in the testing stage and available to only a few users.
