There are very few topics that can unite people, regardless of race and background. One of said topics is food. For Malaysians, there is nothing better to discuss and share!
Yesterday (Sunday, 30th May), Taiwanese singer Ella Chen (陳嘉樺) admitted to missing Malaysian curry laksa. Her simple post sparked discussions among Malaysians about the best way to cook laksa.
Ella posted a photo of her eating the delicious looking laksa on Facebook. She added the caption, “Miss Malaysian curry laksa tonight.” Fans speculated Ella picked up the love for laksa from her Malaysian husband, businessman Alvin Lai.
To show their own appreciation for laksa, netizens shared their own beloved curry laksa in the comment section. Some commented they had also made laksa for a meal, others showed photos of laksa they had enjoyed before. Other fans advised her on ingredients to add, to make it even more delicious. Several advocated for meatballs while some suggested cockles.
Netizens also recommended the best places to eat laksa in Malaysia with many agreeing on Melaka and Sarawak. Of course, they added that people should only check out these places after the pandemic was over. Some fans shared that Ella wasn’t the only one missing laksa. One comment said, “Missing laksa so much. I haven’t been home for a year and a half because of the outbreak. Seeing these photos makes me homesick.”
For now, stay safe and stay home! Hopefully we’ll all be able to go out and eat curry laksa soon.
