Across the pond in the UK, network-exclusive devices aren’t the norm as they are in the US or elsewhere around the globe. It’s generally pretty easy to use whichever device you want on any network. However, Three is looking to break that trend, by securing some interesting devices that the other networks have either passed up or that Three has beaten them to. Today marked the launch of the Three-exclusive Huawei Honor 6 Plus and now, they’ve just shared the news with us that the LG Spirit 4G will be launching in the UK as a Three-exclusive as well. While this goes against what many UK consumers are used to, it does have one upshot; better prices. Both of these devices are affordable and Three are offering some compelling contracts along with them, too.
LG’s Spirit 4G is a budget-minded handset that we got to spend some time with during Mobile World Congress back in February. Like other LG devices, it trickles down features from their flagship ‘G’ line, such as the rear-mounted power and volume buttons. The Spirit 4G will be available for just £129.99 outright, and features a 4.7-inch 720p display, a Snapdragon 410 CPU and 8-megapixel and 5-megapixel front and rear cameras, respectively. The Spirit 4G will come with 8GB of expandable storage and all the same sort of software features from other LG devices will be coming along for the ride.
The Spirit 4G will be exclusive on Three until June this year, so whether or not that means other networks will start to offer the device, or it’ll be available from other retailers is unknown. Either way, it’ll be available for free on contracts starting at just £13 a month and if you want everything unlimited, then £34 a month will get you just that with nothing upfront. Of course, that doesn’t sound quite as good as £39 a month with £19 upfront for the Huawei Honor 6 Plus, but still not bad.
