ActionCam, FREEDOM and an Imperial Eagle team up to break the World Record

This time last week we left you in the UAE city of Dubai as we geared up for the final instalment of FREEDOM’s Imperial Eagle and Action Cam challenge.

Well, since we last saw them they’ve only gone and broken a world record!

Darshan the Eagle was released from the top of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa (which stands at a stomach churning height of 829.8 metres) and captured his extraordinary flight down with a Sony HDR-AZ1 Action Cam Mini as he swept across Dubai’s magnificent skyline.

The unbelievable flight sets a new world record as the highest recorded bird flight from a man-made structure and aims to help build awareness for the charity FREEDOM that is working to reintroduce the majestic Imperial Eagle back in to the wild.

So check out the video below for one of the most impressive bird’s-eye views you’ll ever see…

From world records to… well more records, as the new trailer for Sony’s action comedy “Pixels” has generated 34.3 million views worldwide in its first 24 hours online, making it Sony Pictures Entertainment’s No1 trailer launch of all time!

A reimagining of vintage video games characters, this nostalgia-inducing film, featuring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Josh Gad and err Pac Man beat the studio’s previous record of 22 million streams, which was set by The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the film itself is set to hit your screens this summer!

Film to photography now as this week Sony also joined forces with talented Danish mobile photographer Bobby Anwar this week .

Bobby (@BobbyAnwar) has embarked on his latest project “Meet Your Local Instagrammer” which sees him travelling across Europe with the intention of catching up with a series of local talented instragrammers on their own turf – with each meeting captured in a collaborative video.

Bobby’s journey aims to examine how mobile photography along with Instragram has changed lives and explores the stories that lie within these communities. His first episode saw him speaking to Dan Rubin (@danrubin) in London and his latest chapter sees him meeting Jeppe Kuld, a Copenhagen-based Instagrammer who uses photography as a sanctuary to escape his busy life. You can see videos below…

We’ll be sure to keep an eye on Bobby’s journey and let you know how he gets on.

That’s it from us for now, have a great weekend.
