T-Mobile Will Sell Both 32GB and 64GB Nexus 6 Models

Nexus 6

We’ve actually gotten this question a lot lately. Readers have been asking if carriers will be selling the 64GB model, and typically carriers only take the smaller capacity phone and sell it. Which is what we’ve been telling people. However, we have some great news for T-Mobile users. According to Des, who is a big media guy for T-Mobile, the magenta carrier will be offering the 64GB Nexus 6 online only. While the 32GB model will be available in stores. As far as pricing goes, it should be similar to what Google Play is offering, which is $649 for the 32GB and $699 for the 64GB model. However, if you buy it full price from T-Mobile, it should be a bit cheaper as T-Mobile typically gives you free overnight shipping, while overnight shipping from Google will be around $20. Not a huge difference, especially when you’re already paying $700 for a phone, but it can make a difference.

As far as pricing goes for EIP, we have no idea yet. But if T-Mobile keeps Google’s pricing, then we’ll likely see it for $0 down and $29/month for the 64GB model, and about $27/month for the 32GB model. Which is about the same price as any other flagship that T-Mobile sells. It’s going to be hard for T-Mobile to push the Nexus line as there’s really nothing all that special about it now, except for timely updates straight from Google.

It’ll be interesting to see how well the Nexus devices sell this year, seeing as all five major carriers are going to be carrying them this year, both in store and online. Typically they were only available from Google Play and sometimes T-Mobile. This is the first Nexus that Verizon has had since the Galaxy Nexus, and we’re hoping we don’t see a repeat of that this year.
