Apple is not stressing over the bent iPhone reports. Meanwhile, Sony is ready to announce something and Karbonn is bringing an affordable option to Windows Phone users.
Apple says bent iPhones are not really a huge issue
Bent iPhones have been all the hype this week. The iPhone 6 Plus offered a “feature” no one is happy about – the phone seems to easily bend and we even have proof of it. People claim these phones are bending just by being on their pants’ front pockets.
We see this as a huge issue, but it seems Apple is not really stressed about it. They have told CNBC that only 9 people have complained about this issue, and that it’s “extremely rare” for an iPhone 6 Plus to bend with normal usage.
Apple goes on to say they have used only high-quality materials and both iPhones have “titanium inserts to reinforce high-stress locations.”
Opinion: The evidence is there, Apple. This phone can be bent easier than the competition and you need to own up to it. Even if most iPhones won’t bend, it’s now a probability and the issue needs to be addressed. People are not “holding their devices wrong” or abusing them by putting them in their pockets. Rant over.

Sony sends out invites for October 9th NYC event
Sony seems to be ready to give the USA a little love. The Japanese manufacturer has started sending out invites for an event to take place this October 9th in New York City.
What could we be seeing from Sony in a couple weeks? We are not sure, but suspicions tell us this could be about bringing the new Sony line-up to the USA. This would probably include the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
Opinion: We are still not sure if all (or any) of these tablets will make it to the NYC announcement, but we would probably put our money on at least one of these devices being the main topic of conversation come October 9th. After all, the invite does seem to outline what seems like the shape of a smartphone and a tablet.
Karbonn announces super affordable Windows Phone
Karbonn is a key manufacturer in the Android One movement, but that doesn’t mean they will be exclusive to Google. In fact, the company has just announced the Karbonn Titanium Wind W4, a Windows Phone 8.1 with a price that simply can’t be beat.
The device costs only Rs. 5999, which is equivalent to just under $100 USD. A benjamin will get you a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage, a 4-inch 800x480p display, a 5 MP rear camera and a VGA front shooter.
Indian residents can now get the Karbonn Titanium Wind W4 straight from Amazon India. Who is signing up?
Opinion: Affordable devices will take Android to the next level. It’s true we all love our high-end, techy gadgets, but what matters is getting a smartphone in everyone’s hands. It is devices like Karbonn’s that will accomplish this.
