We are yet to see the iPad 3. On the contrary, we are still speculating what the iPad 3 will be like. And here we have a mind boggling rumor which is certainly out of the blue. We can expect the ‘iPad 4’ , yes the iPad 4 in October of 2012. This rumor comes again from Digitimes stable, which has been pretty nasty with their iPad 3 predictions for some time now. iPad 3, iPhone 5 and iPad 4 will be 2012 Apple product launches
The months of March and October have traditionally been used by Apple to release its products. The iPad 2 was released in March last year and the iPad 3 is expected to release in March too. The iPhone 4S made its debut in October last year and this year we will see the launch of the iPhone 5 and the iPad 4(if we are to believe this rumor).
Digitimes once again said that the iPad 3 will have a high resolution display and will come with longer battery life (like we don’t know!). According to the report, the iPad 3 is almost an interim release that will be released in March to soothe some nerves and claim the low end tablet market that is being ruled by Amazon’s Kindle fire at the moment. Digitimes believes that the iPad 2 will see a drastic reduction in price and Apple will be able to swipe the low end of the tablet market too.This latest iPad 3 rumor comes from China’s Economic Daily News, and suggests that the tablet could be released on February 24 to commemorate Steve Jobs, since this date is also his birthday. Suppliers are reportedly doing the best they can to ramp up production in an effort to have the tablet fully ready and in the quantities needed by Apple.
Inside sources are claiming that Apple is looking to meet demand with an initial supply of 4 million units, which is up from roughly 3.5M last year for the iPad 2. Will 4 million be enough, considering the heavy backorders for the iPad 2 on its release however?
Apple introduced the original iPad on January 27, the iPad 2 on March 3, and could be releasing the highly hyped iPad 3 on February 24, 2012 which wouldn’t be all that much of a long shot (similar time-frame); especially with the date having such significance to the passing of the Apple Founder himself.
iPad 3 leak: Home Buttons
News has also surfaced about a leak of iPad 3 home buttons floating around, and that final production is very close to becoming a reality. The leak suggests that the iPad 3 will still have a physical home button on the upcoming tablet, which settles the yearly debates on whether Apple will move the physical button to being touch-sensitive within the display or bezel. http://www.freepromonow.com/
The home button is sporting a new symbol on the face (slightly smaller; thicker outline), and the underside is also smaller – which is further evidence that the insides of the tablet have been re-engineered a bit. What exactly that encompasses is still relatively unknown at this time.

iPad 3 followed by iPad 4 in just 6 months?
Now this will be quite a feat if Apple does achieve that. But common sense hints that the iPad 4 rumor can be quashed. Releasing two products back to back in just 6 months is almost impossible and will prove counterproductive to the entire iPad range. Digitimes believes that the iPad 4 will be released to counter the Windows 8 based tablets which are supposed to come sometime around then. But honestly speaking the iPad 4 rumor is a dud!
