Tipster Claims OnePlus Nord 2 Will Be A Rebranded Realme X9 Pro

According to a Chinese tipster, the OnePlus Nord 2 will launch as a rebranded Realme X9 Pro (which has not launched yet either). That is a bit weird, but according to him, it’s happening. The information comes from the tipster called ‘Arsenal’ (rough translation), says GizmoChina.

The tipster claims that there will be two variants of the Realme X9 Pro. One will be fueled by the Snapdragon 870, while the other will ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200. The latter won’t launch in China, though.

The OnePlus Nord 2 could share a lot of its specs with the Realme X9 Pro

Based on the information that leaked thus far, quite a few specs do overlap. Both devices are tipped to ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. Both of them are said to include a 4,500mAh battery, and are also rumored to support 65W wired charging.

They will have different ultra-wide camera sensors, based on the leaks. The OnePlus Nord 2 is tipped to include an 8-megapixel one, while the Realme X9 Pro could ship with a 16-megapixel one. The rest of the sensors could be the same.

Now, the design could be a bit different, but almost the same. It is said that the rear camera island could look a bit different, and the bezels could be a bit different as well. The Realme X9 Pro also won’t include an alert slider.

Other than that, the two phones could be quite similar in regards to the design. They’ll both likely include vertically aligned rear-facing cameras. They’ll be curved on the back, include display camera holes, and similar physical button positions.

The device could launch on July 9

The OnePlus Nord 2 is rumored to arrive on July 9. That date hasn’t been confirmed by OnePlus just yet, but it has been rumored. It could be accurate, as that timeframe sure fits OnePlus’ plans.

The device will ship with Android 11 out of the box, along with OxygenOS 11. Wireless charging probably won’t be supported, nor will the device include wireless charging. OnePlus could surprise us, though, we’ll see.
