Samsung Kicks Off Galaxy Z Fold 3 & Z Flip 3 Mass Production

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 have reportedly entered the mass production stage. This information comes from FrontPageTech aka Jon Prosser. He reported that Samsung plans to manufacture over 50,000 units a day, of each device.

Samsung is manufacturing as many units to be ready for the upcoming event. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are expected to arrive during the August 3 event. The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 will also, probably, arrive during that event.

Do note that the two devices won’t become available on August 3. That’s only the launch date, they are expected to become available to purchase on August 27. Samsung will, probably, kick off pre-orders on August 3, though.

It is claimed that the company will manufacture somewhere between 50,000 and 70,000 units per day, and that goes for each of the two devices. Those are considerably higher numbers than for previous devices.

Samsung is allegedly planning to produce a combined 7 million units of these two phones. For comparison’s sake, it produced between 1-2 million for previous devices. That goes for initial production for the launch.

The company is obviously expecting higher demand for the two devices this year. That is not surprising considering that they’re both expected to be considerably more affordable than their predecessors.

On top of that, a ‘Galaxy Note’ handset won’t be coming this year, so something needs to fill the void. That’s where the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are expected to step in, alongside the Galaxy S21 FE.

It remains to be seen how interested will people be in Samsung’s new foldables. Samsung probably did some market research to prepare for the launch, but you can never know how will people react.

These two phones will be positioned as high-end devices, and they won’t be cheap, but their price tags are expected to be considerably lower than those of their predecessors. Check out our Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 previews for more information.
