As per the latest official announcement by OnePlus, the latest OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro models are getting a new OxygenOS update. Notably, the new OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro adds an HDR video recording feature along with some bug fixes.

OnePlus pushed an update, not too long ago, for the OnePlus 9 series. Apparently, the previous update brought fixes for various bugs on the device. It also improved the charging experience of the device and optimized the camera and system performance.

However, the latest update for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, which arrives with OxygenOS version 11.2.77, adds a new HDR video recording feature. This feature was long overdue for the OnePlus 9 series, a glaring omission since launch, to be exact.

Well, that’s not it. The update also brings a reduction in power consumption, fixes known issues, and improves the overall device stability. Once again, this update touches on improving the shooting and recording experience as well.

There is no HDR recording option right on the home screen of the camera app. It is quite strangely buried under the 3-dot overflow menu. It is titled “Dynamic video”. HDR video improves the color, brightness, contrast science to provide rich video content.

OxygenOS 11.2.7.7 update for OnePlus 9/9 Pro weighs 3.12GB in size

Although the OnePlus 9 Pro’s collab with Hasselblad was just a gimmick (for most of the parts), it is nice pretty weird to see an important feature arriving via an update and is not present out of the box. Especially since it is a camera phone.

Talking about the update, it weighs around 3.12GB in size. We would advise OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro users to download the update on a stable and fast Wi-Fi network to avoid downloading issues.

While the update has been pushed for all the variants of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, it is currently rolling out for the Indian units. But it is expected to expand over to more regions in the coming days.

As always, the OxygenOS 11.2.7.7 update for the OnePlus 9 series is rolling out via OTA in batches. Meaning that not all the devices will be receiving the update at once.

The good thing, you can check for the update manually. To do that, head over to Settings > System > System updates. If the updater detects a new update, it will notify you about it.

If there is no update available for your device, then you can also make use of the Oxygen Updater. It grabs the download package links straight from official OnePlus servers.
