It’s that time of week again where we get together to bring you the latest news from the world of Sony and Android, so here goes…
Last week, football fans everywhere tuned in to watch the anticipated Champions League final and, as sponsors, we couldn’t wait for the match! It saw Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid battling it out for the title, but it was Real Madrid who took home the prize for the 11th time (and second time in just three seasons), after Cristiano Ronaldo scored the decisive penalty.
The match marked the 61st season of Europe’s premier club football tournament organised by UEFA. To mark the occasion, a stunning opening show was held, with American superstar Alicia Keys taking to the San Siro stage. In case you missed it, you can catch the video here.
From one success to another, it was announced just this week that the Sony World Photography Awards are back! 2017 will also mark the 10th anniversary of the awards, with new categories in the Professional, Open and Youth categories. Entry is now open – all you have to do is head over to www.worldphoto.org. You could be in with a chance of winning $25,000, the latest Sony equipment and your work may also be included in the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition in London, so it’s definitely worth giving it a go.

If you’re on a winning streak, then PlayStation®’s latest news might be of interest to you. PlayStation is debuting #PLUSMOMENTS in the UK. It’s a site where you can check out PS4 online multiplayer game clips from PlayStation Plus members across the country. And if you want to win some prizes, all you have to do is share your own video clips. PlayStation will be featuring three games every month, each with a specific challenge for you to complete and capture using the “SHARE” button. The top three videos in each challenge will scoop the loot.
For June, challenges will be featured for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Call of Duty: Black Ops III and EA SPORTS FIFA 16. The prizes include signed Uncharted 4 artwork and a COD Black Ops III Juggernog mini-fridge. Check out this clip of Shinoda_2qx scoring a great volley for #PlusMoments
Some exciting news from our friends over at Developer World now, as Sony’s Theme Creator tool has been updated and is officially out of BETA. You’ll be able to create unique themes for Xperia devices and the updated tool will also bring additional Marshmallow support. There will be 500+ resources to customize, and you’ll have the ability to preview screens to in order to ensure your new and existing resources behave as expected.
