Android’s latest advert, a chance to meet Charlie Puth and looking ahead to #SonyMWC

We’re sure it’s already in your calendars, but we wanted to give you a quick reminder that next week we’re at MWC in Barcelona.

You’ll be able to follow the whole event as it happens – we’ll be livestreaming our press conference right here on the blog from 08:30 CET on Monday, followed by an @SonyMobileNews Twitter Q+A from 09:30 – 10:30 CET,get your questions ready using #SonyMWC! For all the news as it happens, make sure you’re following us on Twitter.

Next up, we all know Android adverts never fail to disappoint. Aired at the Grammys, just days ago, ‘Monotune’, was no exception. In the clip you can see a pianist playing the third movement of Beethoven’s much loved ‘Moonlight Sonata’ on two different pianos. Whilst one features the usual 88 pitches, representing Android, the other is tuned so that only one note can be played – middle C. Android asks – what would happen if we were all the same?

Thought-provoking and original, this could even be Android’s best yet! If you missed it, we’ve posted the advert below;

Now, from one piece of music to another, how would you like to not only meet singer songwriter Charlie Puth, but also travel to New York?

One of the world’s fastest-rising pop stars, with three Grammy awards under his belt, Charlie Puth is perhaps best known for his record breaking hit with Wiz Khalifa ‘See You Again’ – a hit that quickly became a YouTube phenomenon and even broke the Spotify record for most streams in a single day ever.

If you’re a fan, your dreams could soon turn to reality, courtesy of Xperia™ Lounge. In its latest competition, Xperia Lounge is offering one lucky winner the chance to win a trip for two to New York City (travel and hotel included) to see him play live at Webster Hall on 7th April, before meeting him backstage.

All you have to do is answer one simple question. You can enter by following this. Good luck!

All music aside, this week PlayStation® announced some exciting news. As the next system software update draws closer, our friends at PlayStation are encouraging gamers to try the update for themselves. Starting from this week, you can sign up to be a beta tester and get a sneak peek at some of the features making their way to your PS4.

Sign up is easy, simply head over to the PlayStation blog. The beta will kick off in early March. In order to be put forward, you’ll need a PS4 console with an internet connection and a master account. Let us know how you get on.

That’s it from us this week. Have a great weekend and stay tuned for #SonyMWC…
