Kicking things off, it’s safe to say there’s never a dull moment in England’s capital and this week was no exception as the crowds gathered to celebrate London’s first Lumiere Festival. Vibrant art installations and extraordinary lights crept across the city – and what better time to put Xperia Z5 to its biggest test yet? We set acclaimed Instagrammer @peppyhere a challenge to capture the neon delights using her Xperia Z5. Touring London from bustling King’s Cross to Westminster, @peppyhere captured some truly fantastic low light shots that you can check out for yourself below.

On the topic of challenges, we decided it was time to catch up with boxer Carl Froch who we partnered with back in December. After retiring from boxing in July 2015, Carl wanted a new challenge, so decided to log and monitor his fitness and training regime, showing exactly how SmartWear from Sony can be integrated into everyday training programmes. As he trains for an IronMan triathlon, Carl logged his fitness and food intake, and then monitored how he felt at the end of the week. You can see his fitness programme, food diary, and results here.
Elsewhere this week, we rolled out an exciting update for one of our most popular apps. From this moment on, our news aggregation service, Socialife will be knows as News Suite. If you’re a fan of PlayStation® you’ll be excited to hear this next piece of news. In the promotion of Street Fighter V, this week Sony announced a limited edition series of PlayStation® 4 consoles. Four distinct models have been unveiled, decorated in art including the Street Fighter V logo and depictions of popular characters. Not stopping the fun there, each purchase will also come with a custom Street Fighter V theme and sleeve designed by Yusuke Murata – the man known for his epic work on One-Punch Man and Eyeshield 21.
Finally, it was announced this week, that the much coveted title of “Hero Open Source Developer” for November-December 2015 had been awarded to Humberto Borba of Brazil. The program works to identify important contributions made by open-source developers to the SonyXperiaDev GitHub projects. Every two months, the developer that submits the most accepted commits to the AOSP for Xperia is named as “Hero Open Source Developer”. Congratulations Humberto Borba!
