There are a lot of note taking services out there today. Many of them are cross-platform, available pretty much everywhere. If you’re an Android user you really have a lot of options out there. As you all probably know, Google has their own service for this purpose, the Google Keep. This app has become really popular ever since it launched in early 2013. Evernote is still the most popular service around, but Google Keep is becoming increasingly popular, and many people are using it nowadays. This application has between 10,000,00 and 50,000,000 downloads in the Google Play Store at the moment, which is saying a lot.
Anyhow, Google has updated Google Keep on desktop a couple of days ago, adding some interesting features to it. Those features are now available for Android as well, the Mountain View tech giant has updated the application. The company has added the ability of creating labels and recurring reminders for your notes. Both of these features were mention by a lot of users and mentioned as the possible additions to the service, Google complied. Labels will certainly come in handy for oganizing your projects, to-dos or general personal stuff. You’re now able to filer by label, create new ones and add multiple labels to your notes. Recurring reminders are a standard features in today’s organizers, and are certainly a welcomed feature here. You can choose whether you want the app to repeat your reminders daily, weekly, monthly yearly or you can set custom reminder, whatever you need. Google has also added the floating action button in the lower right corner, which access to new recording, photo note, list and note options… and looks good doing that.
That being said, it might take some time for the update to hit your device. If you’re not the most patient person in the world, you can download the update here and sideload it to your Android device. Keep in mind that you’ll have to check the “Unknown Sources” in settings in order for the installation to go through. We’ve managed to install the update and everything went smoothly, but you never know I guess. There are also a couple of screenshots in the gallery down below, in case you’d like to check those out before updating.
