Google has announced Android 5.0 Lollipop along with the Nexus hardware back in October. The Mountain View company has given us a look at their newest operating system earlier this year at Google I/O, but the official announcement took place in October. Google’s newest operating system brings all sorts of improvements along with it, not to mention it look completely different. Google has revamped the whole OS, making it more mainstream by adding lots of color and animations, which is a completely different approach compared to Android 4.4 KitKat. They took a skeuomorphic approach this time around, basically everything you see move on the screen has its start and finish point. The company also introduced ART (Android Runtime) instead of Dalvik in Android Lollipop, while Project Volta (improved battery life) took place as well. There are many improvements in Android Lollipop, if you’d like to know more, visit our Android Lollipop page.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s take care of the news at hand. Samsung has always been really fast when it comes to updating their smartphones to the newest version of Android, compared to the majority of other OEMs. The Galaxy S5 handset is Samsung’s current flagship device (next to the Note 4, of course), this smartphone got updated in India a while back, as well as South Korea, but it seems the update is making its way to other regions as we speak. The update has reached Europe, SMG900F in Spain is getting the update and it is expected to hit a ton of other European countries over the next couple of weeks. The Galaxy Note 4 will surely follow soon as well, same goes for the Galaxy Note 3 and a number of other Samsung handsets. Samsung has a ton of devices on their Lollipop update list.

Are you one of those people who own either of the mentioned devices, did you get the Android Lollipop on your Galaxy S5 handset already? Let us know when you do, we’d like to know whether you like it or not and does it run as smooth as people are hoping it will.
