The Droid TURBO Is Now Available to Purchase on Verizon Wireless

Motorola’s beastly Droid Turbo handset launched a couple of days ago and it is already on sale as a Verizon exclusive, as announced. The device is available in two colors, Red and Black and it is also available in two variants, with or without a ballistic nylon back panel. The pricing is as follows, you can get the non-nylon version with 32GB of internal storage on 3 pricing plans. The first option is to get the handset is to sign a two-year service contract and get the device for a subsidized price of $200 (full retail price is $600). You pay that amount at checkout and are eligible for an upgrade after 2 years has passed. The second option is to sign up for Verizon EDGE, that way you get the Droid Turob for $0 down and you split the full retail cost into 24 monthly payments of $25. You can also get a $10-25$ monthly discount, depending on your data plan choice. The third option is of course to buy the device in 1 single payment off-contract, in which case you’ll pay a full $600 retail price.

You can also get the ballistic nylon version if you’re interested, though keep in mind this version is available in black only. The ballistic nylon version comes with 64GB of internal storage and you can get the device for $249 on a two-year contract, $27.08 monthly on Verizon EDGE or off-contract for $650. There you have it, let’s check out what the Droid Turbo has to offer. Motorola Droid Turbo features a 5.2-inch 2K (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display along with 3GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of RAM (depending on the version you get, as I mentioned already). This handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz which comes with an Adreno 420 GPU. On the back of the device, you’ll find a 21-megapixel camera while there’s a 2-megapixel snapper located up front. Droid Turbo ships with a beastly 3900mAh battery which is a great move by Motorola and Android 4.4.4 KitKat with some of Motorola and Verizon’s apps added on there. This is basically the best-specced smartphone on the planet at the moment, at least in my humble opinion. The device is Verizon’s exclusive for now but we’ve heard some rumors it might launch internationally as Moto Maxx, so stay tuned.
