Tank Utility Makes Tracking Your Propane A Snap

It may sound unusual to some, but running a home off propane is a common concept, especially as you head north and visit the more rural areas of the world. It’s a cheap, efficient, and accessible power source… but if your tank runs out at the wrong time, it’s not just annoying, it’s potentially gravely dangerous. Hence, Tank Utility is being developed as a way to always know when you need a new bottle.

Tank Run

It’s actually a fairly simple device, as these things go. You simply connect your Tank Utility reader to the R3D gauge you probably already have. If not, they’re $10 and easily installed. Snap the Tank Utility reader onto the gauge, configure the app, and you’re good to go. There’s also a web app if you’d prefer to get a read on your tank by looking at it online. The real value, as you might have already guessed, is simply gathering the data in the first place.

Essentially, the Tank Utility allows you to track everything about your propane usage; how low your tank is getting, how much you’re using in a given day, whether there are any leaks or other issues you should be aware of, and just otherwise getting your consumption data into one place. Considering how hard this data is to track otherwise, it’s incredibly useful whether you just have a cabin in the woods you visit occasionally, or need to ensure your propane tanks are full up before a major storm hits your home.

And, furthermore, gathering this data is relatively cheap. And at $200, it’ll be both a useful warning system and a good way to make sure your system is up to snuff.
