Galaxy Alpha was the first device from Samsung to boast a metal frame along the sides. Today, Samsung has announced two new devices that expands on the design with a full metal unibody. Behold the Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy A5 that brings the goodness of metal in a super slim form factor (Galaxy A3 is 6.9mm thin and Galaxy A5 is 6.7mm thin). Both are entry to mid-range level handsets so don’t expect much on the hardware side but Samsung points out the phones’ have a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with wide selfie option that Samsung introduced in the Galaxy Note 4, LTE support and a Super AMOLED display.
Both devices are powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB (A5) or 1GB RAM (A3), 5-inch HD 720p (A5) or 4.3-inch qHD (A3) Super AMOLED display, 13 megapixel (A5) and 8 megapixel (A3) cameras, 16GB internal memory, microSD card slot, Ultra Power Saving Mode and more.
The phones will be available in select markets from November 2014 starting with China.
