This afternoon’s news roundup is full of wearable leaks, but we also got some official details on the Galaxy Mega 2. Keep reading for more details!

Microsoft launching a wearable “within weeks”

In an attempt to catch up with the rest of the industry, Microsoft is said to be working on its very own wearable device. And this is not said to be some far-fetched idea, it’s said this device will be launching in just weeks.

This smartwatch is said to come with a heart rate monitor and multi-platform support. In addition, it’s said this device will have a 2-day battery life, which is outstanding compared to most other smartwatches these days.

Opinion: I am very curious to see what kind of wearable device Microsoft can pull off. I am glad they are making it multi-platform (they kinda have to), but what kinds of features will it offer?

Fitbit Surge leaked

We saw some Fitbit devices being leaked this weekend, but now we know a third was was late to the party. New leaks of a Fitbit Surge have shown up, displaying what could be the company’s most powerful wearable to date.

This is not your average wearable, Fitbit calls it a “superwatch”. It will feature GPS tracking, real-time activity data and Fitbit’s 24/7 activity tracking. It’s teh complete package for the workout lovers out there, and it won’t come cheap.

Leaked information says it will be priced at a whopping $250. Ouch!

Opinion: Can Fitbit really make a good name out of this device with such a price point? This is the same price as some of the priciest Android Wear devices. Would you pay $250 for a glorified activity tracker?

Galaxy Mega 2 coming to AT&T October 24th

Those looking to get a new device with a sizable display can now turn to the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2. AT&T has announced that this device will reach its network come October 24th for a price of $474.99 or $149.99 with a 2-year contract.

Its specs include a 6.3-inch 720 display, an 8 MP camera, a 2800 mAh battery and more. This version seems to be a bit different from the previous, but the Asian Galaxy Mega 2 also has a 1.4 GHz quad-core Exynos 4415 processor and 1.5 GB of RAM.

Opinion: It wouldn’t be hard to find a good device for this price, making the Galaxy Mega 2 a bit more expensive than we thought it would be. It’s definitely not that bad of a smartphone, though.
