New Xiaomi Tablet Pops Up On GFXBench, Set to be An Affordable 64-Bit Device

Xiaomi is growing at an amazing pace. We’re talking about a number one Chinese OEM at the moment and the company has recently claimed 3rd place in global proportions. Considering Xiaomi still didn’t reach its full potential, who knows if anyone can stop them at all. This Chinese manufacturer is in the middle of starting its business in Brazil and probably expanding to all South America, not to mention they’re also planning a move to the Russian market. Other than China and India (where Xiaomi already operates) these are the biggest markets in the world. Xiaomi already has a line of smartphones and tablets and the company even has its own smart TV and a fitness tracker. It seems like another product is in the pipeline for this company.

The Tegra K1-powered MiPad is already out on the market, this is a 7.9-inch Android tablet which is really powerful. Next to the Tegra K1 chip it also ships with a 2048 x 1536 display and 2GB of RAM, amongst other specifications. It seems like Xiaomi has yet another ace up its sleeve, this time a mid-range tablet offering. This new mysterious device paid a visit to GFXBench and showed off its specifications. The device will sport a 9.2-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core chip clocked at 1.2GHz will power on this tablet with Adreno 306 GPU which will take care of graphics processing. The listing says that the device won’t sport any cameras whatsoever and that it will ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat which will, of course, come with Xiaomi’s MIUI OS on top of it. NFC also won’t be a part of the package according to the listing, while a SIM card is listed in there, which means the device will sport cellular connectivity.

This is a rather interesting listing, I have to admit. Xiaomi’s high-end products are really affordable, can you even imagine how affordable would this device be considering its specifications and the fact that it comes without the rear or front-facing cameras. This will be a perfect offering for emering markets where Xiaomi sells a ton of devices. Anyhow, we expect Xiaomi to launch this tablet rather soon, though we don’t know when will that happen, if I had to guess I’d say within a month or two.
