Movies app update (8.0.A.0.4) intros new player options

Sony has updated the Movies application from build number 7.3.A.0.2 to 8.0.A.0.4. The main new feature in this 12.5MB update is the introduction of some simple player options whilst watching video. This includes buttons for rewind/forward and play options such as Play/Repeat all.

The description for this new update also speaks of a new “Movies Small App.” However, this seems to be a bit premature as we could see no sign of this new Small App. Once it is released, you will be able to play your videos in a small window whilst doing other activities such as browsing. We’ll let you know when Sony pulls the trigger on the Movies Small App.
