LG, much like Samsung, likes to throw rather odd devices off the wall and see if they’ll stick. LG G Flex was a rather interesting concept and this curved phablet intrigued many people, LG will quite probably introduce its successor in due time. The G Flex wasn’t all that weird though, it did innovate to some extent, but it wasn’t that odd. This time around we have something goofy to share with you. LG introduced the goofiest device you’ve ever seen, if you’ve seen anything goofier than this please do share it in the comments. Anyhow, the device’s name is LG AKA and LG introduced this thing in Korea.
LG described this device as “personal” and “customizable”, we’ve seen customization on other phones already, so what makes this device so different? Well, the odd colored panels do, which you can exchange of course. The upper side of these panels actually show a pair of animated eyes pointed towards you. These eyes express different emotions and LG claims that the phone will choose its emotion depending on how you use it and its features as well. So, based on your usage of the apps installed in the phone and music you listen to (for example) this phone will feature different emotions through the eyes on the top of the phone. Sounds really goofy, bizarre and creepy at the same time, right? Well, at least it does to me. This shouldn’t surprise us all that much though, Asian market is filled with rather odd gadgets, though this one is amongst the weirdest one I’ve seen thus far.
We still don’t have any information about this device’s specifications, but LG is expected to share more details with us during this year’s World IT Show 2014 which is held in Busan, Korea. LG teased this phone over here and is expected to share more details about the device with the public. Don’t expect this to be a flagship phone though, I guess it will be a mid-range device aimed at teens quite probably and I doubt we’ll see it available outside of Asia. LG AKA will launch in South Korea next month. I actually can’t wait to hear your thoughts about all this, oh and by the way, the featured image above is actually animated.
