3G-Only Dual SIM Variant Of Samsung Galaxy A3 Surfaces

I believe most of you remember the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, that premium-built Samsung smartphone which didn’t exactly come with high-end specifications. Well, Samsung planned to announce a new line of devices based on the Alpha, Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 as you probably already know. We’ve seen leaks of all three of these devices and some of them even passed through FCC or TENAA, depending on the country. We already knew that all three of these devices will be available with 4G LTE capability built-in, but it seems like Samsung plans to launch a 3G version of the device as well. It seems like the FCC gave an all clear to Samsung SM-A300H/DS, a 3G-only variant of the Galaxy A3. This device will get a dual-SIM support instead of 4G connectivity which basically means Samsung will target emerging markets with this device.

According to information provided by TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) back in September, Samsung’s Galaxy A3 will feature a 4.5-inch 960 x 540 AMOLED display along with 1GB of RAM for you multitasking needs and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card). The device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz which comes with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics rendering. On the back of the device, you’ll be able to find an 8-megapixel shooter while a 5-megapixel snapper will be located on the front of it. Android 4.4.4 KitKat will come pre-installed on this device with Samsung’s skin on top of it. This handset will measure 130.1 x 65.5 x 6.9mm and will weight 112 grams. We’ll see at least 2 versions of the device according to today’s information, a 4G LTE version and a dual-SIM version. Who knows, maybe Samsung decides to release a version which sports both.

I’m not the biggest fan of Samsung’s software, but I really do appreciate this new design direction. There was nothing wrong with the plastic (polycarbonate) they were implementing before, but this metal trim definitely helps make their devices feel more premium, not to mention they actually look better this way, at least in my humble opinion. What do you think, do you like Samsung’s new design direction?
