White Moto X front plates are back ordered due to unexpected demand

Want a new Moto X with a white front plate? Bad news. According to the Moto Maker website, any phone with a white front can expect about a 4 week delay. The back order is bad enough that it’s affecting device orders that have already been processed, too.

With the original Moto X, the black model was significantly more popular. This time around, Motorola shifted their focus to the black models to try to keep up with what customers would want, but apparently they guessed wrong and some people are just going to have to wait for their device. Fortunately it looks like the black front devices should ship without any issue, so if you don’t mind what color the front of your new Moto X is, you should grab the black just to speed things up.

It just seems like something always goes wrong with Motorola’s new device launches. Maybe next year will go smoothly.
