It might be one of the worst kept secret in the industry but here they are; Nokia has finally took the wrap off its line of next generation Lumia devices featuring the new Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system. Taken place at a special media event in New York yesterday, one of the devices that were unveiled at the event was the newNokia Lumia 920.
Spotting a one-piece polycarbonate body together with ceramic zirconium side-keys and camera detailing, the new Nokia Lumia 920 has been touted by the company as the world's most innovative smartphone. It is equipped with quite a number of new fancy features such as the PureMotion HD+ display technology for its 4.7-inch IPS LCD display which offers a refresh rate of 60Hz, maximum resolution of 768x1280 and high brightness level at 600nits. Covered by Gorilla Glass, the display also comes together with sunlight readability enhancements and touch capability that is so sensitive that users can actually use the display even with gloves on.
Other than that, the Nokia Lumia 920 also features the next generation Nokia PureView technology on its 8.7-megapixels rear camera which uses floating lens technology for optical image stabilization (OIS). In addition to that, the camera also comes together with Carl Zeiss optics and the ability to record full HD 1080p video at 30fps. There is also a front-facing 1.2-megapixels camera in the smartphone.

In terms of processing power, the Nokia Lumia 920 is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor together with 1GB of RAM. The device will be available with 32GB internal storage space and 7GB free SkyDrive cloud storage but will not have a microSD memory card slot as per Nokia Lumia 820. Last but not least, the device main power source is provided through a non-removable 2000mAh battery that can be charged through the usual micro-USB connection or wireless charger.
Available in yellow, red, grey, white and black, Malaysia has been listed as one of the market in this region that will receive the new device. However, Nokia didn't officially announce anything related to the pricing and release dates for the device last night.
Another thing that we like to note that while the technical aspects of Nokia Lumia 920's PureView camera sound very impressive, its true ability is currently being questioned after it was revealed that one of the OIS demo videoof the Lumia 920's camera during the media event last night was just a simulation and not from the actual device.
Well then, guess we have to reserve our judgement of the new Nokia Lumia 920 until it is officially available to consumers. To learn more about the new Nokia Lumia 920, head on to www.nokia.com.my.
