Things in the United States are still bit tense and not too much has changed since our last article about the carriers in the USA and Canada. It seems that tech enthusiasts who want to get a contract with one of the carriers so they can get the Galaxy S3 will have to wait for a while longer. On the other hand, those who live in Europe won’t have too much to worry about as the Samsung Galaxy S3 will be presented very soon by all the major carriers. By the end of May, all the big names in the game will open business and sales will start. Let’s have a look at the offers the carriers have, shall we?
Fame and glory will go to Vodafone as the first official UK carrier to sell the Next Galaxy, the Galaxy S3. What is more impressive and a good advantage for them is that they will be able to do this one day before all its competitors. Vodafone will also be the first to offer both the 16 and the 32 GB versions of the device. Sounds like a great honor, huh? Still, the fact that they will be the first to do so doesn’t have to mean their business will grow over night. People will hardly change carriers over such a thing and those who have waited for months will certainly wait for another day if needed. If Vodafone is your way to go, however, then the offer will be starting on May 29. You’ll be able to get the Galaxy S3 for free if you choose the £36 a month two-year plan, including 1200 minutes, 3000 texts and 500 MB of data. Not bad plan, but the amount of data isn’t very nice for needs of many users.
Other carriers (O2, Three and Orange) will start selling the Galaxy S3 the next day, which is on May 30. In the same manner as Vodafone, they all have plans allowing you to get the phone without paying anything upfront. There plans are:
- Orange: Their plan will cost you £36 a month as well as Vodafone’s. You can either go for the Dolphin or the Panther plan. Dolphin users will have 900 minutes, 3000 texts and 250MB of data , while Panther customers will have 600 minutes, 3000 texts and 1GB of data. Affordable and effective.
- Three: will charge you £32 each month which is the most affordable of the plans. The plan will be called The One and will give all you can eat data, 2,000 minuets and 5,000 texts!
- O2’s contract will cost £41 and you get (aside from the phone) 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data per month.
Remember that all of these are two-year contracts.
But notice how we didn’t talk about of one of the leading UK carriers, T Mobile, so far in this article. Why is that? Well, they are taking a different (but common) approach. You will have to pay upfront before signing a two-year contract with them. Different plans have a different upfront price. However, a lot of people will still argue that it is worth it to stick with them. One of the reasons is: they give you the most out of their plan!
While you will have to pay at least £49.99 upfront and £36 a month, you will still be getting unlimited data, texts and calls to other T-Mobile customers, as well as 2,000 minutes of monthly voice calls to other networks.
