The NEX series of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras have been a runaway hit from the day the first NEX-3 and NEX-5 were launched. Today Sony introduced the latest addition to the family in the form of the NEX-F3, the successor to the NEX-C3. The NEX-F3 is a 16.1MP shooter featuring the Exmor APS HDD CMOS sensor that has a native ISO range of 200 - 16000. The NEX-F3 is also able to shoot full 1080p videos and can shoot at a cool 5.5fps. One of the main features of the NEX-F3 is the rear LCD that allows you to swivel 180 degrees for easier camwhoring. Along with the usual features like panorama, image effects and auto HDR, the F3 is a good baseline entry model for this stellar family of cameras.
The NEX-F3 is available now and will run you RM1,999 with the 18-55mm kit lens, RM2,399 for the 16mm & 18-55mm lenses and RM2,899 for the 18-55mm and 55-210mm lenses.

The other release today by Sony was an addition to the Alpha SLT family, the SLT-A37. Sharing the same 16.1MP sensor as the NEX-F3, the A37 has a native ISO range of 100 - 16000 and also records video at 1080p (which by now is kind of a standard). In all honesty, lots of the features are the same as the NEX-F3, except for the fact that it is an A-mount system, has a built in viewfinder and will shoot at 7fps. Not a bad choice, but for the money, I'd rather get the more portable NEX.
The A37 is available now for RM1,999 with the 18-55mm kit lens, RM2,699 for the 18-55mm & 55-200mm combo and both come with an 8GB memory card, carrying case and access to a Sony Digital Lifestyle workshop worth RM400.
