OnePlus Buds 'Pro' Confirmed, Some Users Can Test Them Out Early

OnePlus is on the fast track to establishing its own ecosystem of devices. The next generation to its OnePlus Buds has been confirmed by the company, and some lucky users may be able to try them out early.

OnePlus is accepting applications for people to try out the OnePlus Buds Pro

On the OnePlus Lab site, right under the section about the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, there’s a brief section about the new buds. The company doesn’t go into any details about them or when we can expect them to launch. There is however the “Apply” button and the application time window.

The application process is pretty straightforward, but it’s clear that testing the earbuds is not for everyone. You’ll enter your email address, age, country, gender, occupation, your current earbuds/earphones, and what kind of features you value most in earbuds. and what your favorite type of device is.

After that, you will be asked what type of device is your favorite. It’s all easy until after this point. In the next field, you will be required to write a review of your favorite device. Your chances at getting accepted may depend heavily on the quality of the review.

After that, you will be asked some questions about your headphones and your headphone usage. If you really want to try out the OnePlus Buds Pro, and you don’t mind writing out a full review to do so, then you can easily apply. Act fast, as the window for applying is July 9 – July 17.

The ‘Pro’ moniker might hint at some additional features

OnePlus launched the OnePlus Buds last year and they came with some cool features. Such as touch controls, and they would autoplay when they detected that they were in the ear. Though, both of those things are available on other earbuds too. Along with that they also come with fast charging and quality microphones.

What makes these new buds interesting is the “Pro” moniker. With that, consumers can probably expect to see some pro features. For starters, maybe the company will add Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). This is a staple in pro grade earbuds. Since there’s a good set of microphones on the current OnePlus Buds, they could be used for ambient audio in the Pro buds.

Along with those features, we will hopefully see additional battery life. There haven’t been any complaints about poor battery life on the current OnePlus Buds, but more battery life never hurt. We can also expect there to just be an increase to the overall audio quality.
