Nothing, the company started by OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei, has announced today the official price point for its upcoming first product, the Ear 1 earbuds. In fact it has also shared one of the features that consumers can expect to receive with the earbuds if they pick these up over some of the competition.

There’s still a lot of mystery to these earbuds of course. Nothing hasn’t announced the official launch date. It’s so far only confirmed one feature, so there’s no indication of what the other features will be. And Nothing still doesn’t appear to have given a full list of available regions for its first product.

One might say there is actually next to nothing that’s known officially about these earbuds. Though perhaps that will be changing soon, now that Nothing has started to trickle out information.

The Nothing Ear 1 earbuds will cost $99

Nothing has now officially confirmed the price of its upcoming earbuds. The Nothing Ear 1 will cost $99 in the US, and will be the same price locally in other regions where the earbuds will be available.

That makes the Ear 1 cost a “fair price” for a pair of earbuds that are truly wireless, according to the company’s founder. And when you sit down and think about what the earbuds are going to offer, that’s not exactly inaccurate.

Naturally consumers will need to know more about these earbuds before they can truly decide if these are the best value compared to other options. But the Ear 1 appear to be off to a good start.

The Ear 1 will feature Active Noise Cancellation

Active Noise Cancellation is typically thought of as a premium feature to have in a pair of earbuds or headphones. The price has come down some and you can now get audio gear with ACN for a lot less than a few years ago. But what really matters is how good the ACN is.

Since the Ear 1 will feature ACN, they’re definitely poised to offer buyers a good value. Especially if the feature works well.

Nothing says that it will share a lot more details about the Ear 1 at its upcoming event on July 27. So if you want to more about these earbuds, keep your schedule open on that day.
