Sony Sets The Bar Once Again With The New WF-1000XM4 Truly Wireless Earbuds

Sony already had the best pair of truly wireless earbuds in the WF-1000XM3, and now they’ve set the bar even higher with the WF-1000XM4.

Somehow, Sony was able to improve the noise cancelling performance on the WF-1000XM4 earbuds, thanks to a new integrated Processor V1. It has two noise sensing microphones on the surface of each earbud. That includes one feed-forward and one feed-back. This allows the headphones to analyze ambient noise to provide highly accurate noise cancellation.

It also improved the sound and call quality on the WF-1000XM4. It uses specially designed 6mm drivers, which reproduce a dynamic sound while the high compliance diaphragm reproduces a rich bass. The aforementioned Processor V1 also helps to enhance the sound quality, while also reducing distortion. It is also compatible with high-resolution audio.

The Sony WF-1000XM4 earbuds also offer hands-free calls with precise voice pickup. This combines the Precise Voice Pickup technology with microphones and a bone-conduction sensor, making it easier for them to pick up your voice clearly.

Sony’s WF-1000XM4 have impressive battery life too

On top of all of the improvements on the WF-1000XM4, Sony has also improved battery life. We’re looking at about eight hours of continuous battery life, and you can get around 24 hours of charging from the case. Which is also smaller this time around.

Sony has quick charge available, allowing you to charge for five minutes and get around 60 minutes of playtime.

Speaking of charging, the Sony WF-1000XM4 also use Qi wireless charging. So you don’t need to plug them in. But if you wish to do so, it does use USB-C like your smartphone.

Revamped packaging makes the WF-1000XM4 more environmentally conscious

One of the first things you’ll notice with the Sony WF-1000XM4 is the smaller package. It is also using a blended paper packaging, that is designed for true sustainability.

This is something we’ve been seeing more and more companies do as of late. Lowering their footprint for their packaging and make sure it is recyclable.

Now let’s talk about price. The Sony WF-1000XM4 is going to be priced at $279.99. That is a sizable price increase from the previous generation. But when you look at the many changes that were made here, and improvements, it’s worth that higher price tag. And it is available to order today from Sony, Amazon and Best Buy.
