Red Dot Awards 2016 – Sony Xperia smartphones pick up four design prizes

Sony has announced its list of product winners in the 2016 Red Dot design awards. Sony has a long history of doing well in picking up prizes on the design side and it hasn’t disappointed again this year. Sony won 18 Red Dot 2016 awards altogether, which includes two “Red Dot Best of the Best 2016” awards – the highest accolade given each year by Red Dot.

The ‘Best of the Best’ winners were the Glass Sound Speaker (LSPX-S1) that we first saw at CES and the DSC-RX1RM2 Digital Camera. Only 1.5% out of the 5,200products looked at across 57 countries receives this top award.

On the mobile side, Sony picked up Red Dot awards for the Xperia C5 Ultra, M4 Aqua, Z5 and Z5 Premium. Sony Mobile also won awards for various accessories including the Bluetooth Speaker BSP10, Stereo Bluetooth Headset SBH70, Smart B-Trainer and h.ear on headphones.
