The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are on their way for a market release all across the world, but before the duo hits the shelves starting March 11, the Korean manufacturer continues to promote the flagship lineup in a new series of video ads. Last time we discussed Samsung’s recent YouTube activity, the company had released a video explaining why the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge can be considered unique “VR machines”. More recently, the tech giant released three new – and rather humorous – videos titled “Why?”, “Water Resistance” and “The Dark”, starring numerous celebrities and detailing some of the other exciting characteristics surrounding these handsets.
The “Why?” video seems to focus on some of the questions that many smartphone users have been facing over the past few years, such as “why can’t my phone have enough storage for my movies?”, “why can’t my phone take high-quality low-light photos?”, or “why can’t my battery last long enough to navigate me through these scary woods”? Well, granted, all three videos have a humorous tone to them but they do get the point across, and in case you haven’t guessed already, the gist of the video and the answer to these questions basically equates to “because you’ve never owned a Samsung Galaxy S7”.
The second video called “Water Resistance” starts off by explaining how our lives rely on water, how exposed we are to water, and how ironic it is that most smartphones nowadays don’t have water resistance, especially since, according to the video, there are only two things you can’t live without: water and your phone. Needless to say, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge do have water resistance and are IP68-certified which, at the end of the day, is a noteworthy plus if you happen to live on a planet like ours whose surface is 71% covered in water.
Last but not least, the third video titled “The Dark” focuses on the camera capabilities of the new Samsung Galaxy series, specifically the handsets’ ability to capture high-quality photos in low-light conditions (partly thanks to technologies such as Dual Pixel autofocus). With the same humorous tone, Samsung explains that the best things happen in the dark, and things generally look better in the dark. “People are younger and look better in the dark”; “they wear their most glamorous clothes in the dark”. The video clearly revolves more around nightlife and, again, promotes the smartphones’ camera prowess in low-light photography.
Ultimately, though, these types of ads are better viewed than explained, so without spoiling any of the surprises that may be waiting for you, you can check them out below.
