Sprint-owned prepaid carriers Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile have both revealed that they are adding a few new entry-level smartphones to their lineups, today. While Virgin has already started offering the HTC Desire 626s, the Huawei Union and the Moto G 2015, Boost Mobile, has announced its plans to carry the HTC Desire 626s and the Huawei Union in the coming weeks. Coming to the pricing of the three handsets, the Huawei Union is slated to be the most affordable in a lineup of super affordable devices. The smartphone will come with a price-tag of just $79.99 at Virgin. As for the Desire 626s, HTC’s entry-level smartphone can be had for $129, while the Moto G 2015 is set to be the most expensive device of the lot, costing $149.
Taking a quick glance at some of the hardware specs of the three handsets, While both the third generation Moto G and the Desire 626s from HTC come with 5-inch 720p displays, the Union comes with the smallest footprint of the lot, featuring a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA). The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC, which comes with a 1.1 GHz quad-core CPU and an Adreno 304 GPU. There’s 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of built-in storage, with support for a microSD card. The Union comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop pre-installed, carries a 2,000 mAh battery and sports a 5-megapixel primary camera on the back.
Coming to the two other devices, they both feature 5-inch 720p displays as already mentioned above, and both come with Android 5.1 pre-installed. But while the Moto G is powered by the Snapdragon 410, the Desire 626s comes with the Snapdragon 210 under its hood. The HTC handset comes with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, and has an 8-megapixel rear camera. While the Moto G comes in both 1 GB / 8 GB and 2 GB / 16 GB variants, the version up for sale at Virgin happens to be the former. Coming to the imaging options, the HTC handset sports an 8-megapixel rear camera, while the Moto G (2015) comes with a 13-megepixel rear-facing shooter.
