Meizu is one of the fastest growing smartphone OEMs in the world. This China-based smartphone manufacturer managed to grab consumers’ attention last year when they introduced three really compelling devices, the Meizu MX4, MX4 Pro and M1 Note. The company has continued making really solid devices this year as well, and one of the main selling point for Meizu’s products is the price. These devices tend to be really affordable, especially if you consider what they have to offer.
The company has already released their flagship for this year, the MX5, and we’ve already reviewed it, in case you’d like to check that out. That being said, we have some new company-related news to share with you. It seems like Meizu wants to re-brand, well, slightly re-brand. The company will release a new logo design in the coming months, at least according to a leaked PPT presentation. If you take a look at the gallery below the article, you’ll be able to see the possible new Meizu logo design. It is quite interesting and seems more modern than the current design Meizu is rockin’, but that’s all a matter of preference, I’m sure that there are those of you who disagree, and prefer the current logo design.
Anyhow, along with the new logo design, Meizu’s roadmap leaked as well. Meizu’s upcoming premium device is mentioned on it, but we still don’t know what will it be called. Meizu’s VP did say that the company is working on a premium new line of devices which will probably launch in Q1 2016, so there’s still quite some time until that happens, and we’ll probably see a number of rumors / leaks in the coming months. The question remains though, will Meizu announce another handset by the end of 2015? Well, judging by what we’ve seen thus far, no, but you never know with Meizu. This company doesn’t really release that many devices a year, but considering they released MX5 back in June, it would seem odd for them not to release anything for 6+ months. The Meizu MX5 Pro was supposed to launch in November or December, but it seems like Meizu decided to cancel the whole ‘MX Pro’ line of devices, so… that’s probably not going to happen.
