The new Macbook has a lot of changes, and one of them is that you have to do everything, and we mean everything, through one port, a USB-C port. Needless to say, denying power users the multiple ports they want has made them angry. Not angry enough not to buy the Macbook, though, so they need solutions to the lack of ports. And that’s where Voltus comes in.
High Voltus
The Voltus is pretty straightforward in the basics. Roughly the size of a computer mouse, Voltus packs in an enormous lithium ion battery with a USB-C in, and USB-C out, and two USB 3.0 ports. So, not only do you have a back-up battery, you can easily charge up your computer by plugging into the wall, while still getting the ports you need to actually get some work done or attach anything else to your computer. It’s even got an LED indicator to tell you when your power reserves are running low.
Oh, and, of course, you can use it to charge up your other Apple devices, so you can get them juiced up on the road as well.
Voltus And Amps
Of course, the obvious solution is to not buy the Macbook and get a computer that actually has the tools you need to get work done. But if you absolutely must have that Mac in your bag, you should put Voltus in there as well, especially at a Kickstarter cost of $120.
