Sprint’s LG G2 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update OTA Beginning Today

Now that more and more devices have already received their operating system update to Android 5.0 (Lollipop), the news about updates are starting to come a little less frequently. However, they are still coming through. In fact, April has largely been the LG G2 month with carriers across the board updating their carrier specific variants. It all began, right at the start of the month (technically the very end of March) when Verizon released the update to their LG G2. This was then followed a couple of weeks later in mid-April with the update also beginning to roll out to the LG G2 on both AT&T and T-Mobile. In fact, the update for the LG G2 on AT&T and T-Mobile actually came through on the same day. Well, the announcement of the update beginning to roll out did at least.

Today, it looks like the L2 G2 news is continuing as Sprint have now announced that Lollipop is also beginning to roll out to their carrier specific version. The update, which is currently listed as version “ZVG” and dated with today’s date, does not list much in the way of improvements or included features. In fact, besides the actual updating to Android 5.0, the only other mention of what is on offer is a radio software update.

If you are currently running an LG G2 on Sprint and have been waiting for the update to arrive, then as per usual, this is a staged roll out. Which means it will not land for all devices at the same time. In fact, Sprint detail in the update announcement (source link below) that it may take a few days to reach your specific device. As such, do not be too surprised if it does take some time to finally land. In the meantime though, you can check to see if your update is ready by heading to the update section within your device’s settings menu. Either way though, you can rest assured that the update is at least en route and Sprint have now joined the ranks of T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T when it comes to the month of the LG G2.
