Xiaomi has been selling their products in India for quite some time now. The company didn’t sell their devices directly though, they partnered up with one of India’s biggest retailers, Flipkart. Earlier this year, some reports were stating that Xiaomi intends to open up shop in India and also sell their smartphones directly via their website. Well, the company isn’t there just yet, but they did start offering their accessories through the company’s official India website, read on.
This China-based company has listed a number of accessories on their official India website and they’re now available for purchase. These are the available accessories: Redmi Note Flip Case, Redmi Soft Gel Protective Case, Mi In-Ear Headphone (Piston), Mi In-Ear Headphones (Basic) and both of Xiaomi’s power banks (which are listed separately) are now available. If you live in India and decide to purchase some of these accessories, keep in mind that shipping is free for orders over Rs. 500. If your order value is lower than that, you’ll have to pay Rs. 50 for shipping. Cash on Delivery and PayU are not available just yet, but the company says that those payment options will be available soon as well.
That being said, these accessories are listed on Xiaomi’s website, but the company is still not the one selling them. According to Xiaomi, all of these accessories are being sold in India by Rocket Kommerce LLP, an authorized distributor of Xiaomi products in India. Also, despite the fact that these devices are now listed on Xiaomi’s official website, they are available through Flipkart as well, just in case you were wondering. It seems like Xiaomi is moving closer to the “manufacture in India” stage of their operations. Company’s executives hinted several times that they will start manufacturing devices in India, and several reports have confirmed that. If those reports are to be believed, the company might start manufacturing devices in Q3 or Q4 this year.
