LeTV X600 image leak_1

Earlier we reported on the LeTV X600, as a few images had leaked out reporting to be the new device by the Chinese manufacturer. According to a listing in TENAA, the device reportedly will come with a 5.5 inch 1080p which, of course, is 1920 x 1080. It will also feature 2 GB of RAM and have a 16 GB internal storage. Powering the internals will be the MediaTek MT6795 SoC running at 2.2 GHz. Foe the camera, the phone is reported to carry a respectable 13-megapixel main camera with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video conferencing and yes, even for selfies. It will be featured in three colors, white, grey, and gold. Its price range will be between $160 for the plastic polycarbonate model with the metal version moving in at reasonable $319. There is also the top tier model that will set you back around $480.

But we are now learning that it may also come with an added bonus. According to some reports, the phone will feature a possible USB Type-C on this handset. This new standard will be coming to more phones as time moves on. Some of you may have come to know this new USB standard because it is the only port on the new laptop from Apple and It has seen some public spotlight, as a result. So what is USB Type-C?

USB Type-C is a new USB connector which will probably become a standard in the future. Most Android smartphones and mobile devices use USB Type-A at the moment. You know the drill, you have to figure out which way to turn the connector which only fits one way. That will all Change with the USB Type-C. This new standard will remove the need for the various types of connectors on the market. It is small, fast, and you don’t have to think which was to turn it before you plug it in. The same connector will be located at either end of the cable, thus eliminating the need for two separate USB connectors on a cable making in nice and uniform. This uniformity will also reduce the cost as manufacturers will only have to make one single connector for all USB cables. It also supports various other protocols such as HDMI, though an adapter to connect the two would still be needed. It also has USB PD, or USB Power Delivery, which will allow for much faster charging via a very nice 100 Watts of power versus USB 2.0 which has around 2.5 watts. It will also allow for faster data transfer if the connector is paired with USB 3.1. Remember, USB Type-C is just the connector and could be paired with USB 2.0 or 3.1.

LeTV was smart to include this on their new device. As this will now become the standard, we will see this connector on more and more devices. LeTV has packed a lot of decent tech inside this new device. There is no word as yet though on when this device will drop, but hopefully since it has gone through the certification hoops, we should see it up for grabs soon.
