Meizu has released quite a few solid devices last year, and the company has announced back in November that they’re working on updating their Flyme UI to Android 5.0 Lollipop. We’ve seen a couple of leaks regarding this since then, and the Android Lollipop-powered Flyme UI actually leaked on the Meizu MX4 quite recently. Well, we have another such leak to share with you this time around, though we’re looking at the MX4 Pro handset this time around. As you can see in the provided image below the article, we’re talking about Android 5.0.1 version here. This image isn’t all that revealing considering most of the information is blurred out, and we don’t get to see the UI in action. You can, however, expect a ton of improvements here, even though Flyme 4 was a really capable and snappy version of Meizu’s UI.
Meizu is expected to release this update by the end of this month, though the company is probably going to release an open beta version of the software. According to the latest report, you’ll have to wait for the final version, unfortunately. Either way, we’re looking forward to this update. Android 5.0 Lollipop brings a lot of improvements to Android on its own, and Meizu will almost certainly include some of its home baked features in Flyme 5. This update will land on Meizu MX4 and Meizu MX4 Pro handsets first, and will rollout to Meizu M1 Note and M1 soon after that. The device shown in this picture is the Meizu MX4 Pro, the company’s current flagship. This device features a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1536 IPS LCD display along with 3GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64GB of RAM. Samsung’s Exynos Octa 5430 SoC is powering on this handset, and you can find a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back of it. The device also ships with a fingerprint scanner, and the company used metal materials in order to build this device. As a side note, Meizu intends to expand soon, the company has teased their arrival in India yesterday, where they’ll sell the company’s handsets via one of India’s retailers.
