Instant noodles in Malaysia has come a long way. I grew up eating instant noodles with chicken soup or curry flavour at least once a week, and it still holds a special place in my gut. The real stuff is great, but sometimes having soupy stuff on a hot and warm weather is not fun!
Hence, both kampungboy and I are big fans of instant Mi Goreng. Mi Sedaap has always been our only choice because they used to be the only player who introduced instant Mi Goreng.
Recently, Mi Sedaap came out with a new flavour – Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi. We were reluctant to change because we both love the Mi Goreng asli so much! However, since it was on sale, we bought some to try.
We have our own protocol when it comes to making our favourite Mi Goreng. While boiling the noodles in a pot with water, we pour the ingredients and flavouring such as soy sauce, chili sauce, spicy oil and seasoning onto a plate. We only use 3/4 of the seasoning powder most of the time because we prefer our noodles to be less salty.
Timing is crucial to make sure that the noodles are al-dente. Follow the instructions behind the packet. Drain the noodles and toss it together with the sauces and seasoning evenly. While boiling the noodles, I chuck in a piece of marinated chicken breast onto the oven.
The special innovation of Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi is from its Krispi Krezz Krezz bits – fried onion bits that wrap with special chicken recipe flavour that giving more crunchy and crispy mouth feel. I pour the Krispi Krezz Krezz bits over my grilled chicken breast and it tastes like the real ayam goreng with crispy skin! Since we live in condo, we hardly deep fried any stuff because the whole house will smell of oil. So that is my lazy way to enjoy ayam goreng.
The noodles are springy and evenly tossed in the sauces and seasoning. It is a very simple lunch meal for us. However, the noodles portion is a bit too small. Two packets of noodles are too much for one person. So we always share three packets amongst the two of us.
Instant noodles might be the cheapest foods in the supermarket, but with imagination and a bit of special toppings, it can be one of the most satisfying meal at home.
I love the new Mi Sedaap Goreng Ayam Krispi flavor. Do you?
Try it out and you know what i mean the real chicken crispy taste is. By the way, they are giving out HOT BALLOON TICKET rides now. Let go to ride hot balloons together.
