Oculus Rift is a really interesting gadget, this virtual reality headset grabbed the spotlight ever since it was first announced. Many people believe that virtual reality is the future, and I tend to agree with that, I just hope the humanity won’t go too far with the whole virtual reality world scheme, but this is a really fun gaming gadget for example. Anyhow, Samsung partnered up with Oculus and released their very own take on virtual reality back in September, in a form of the Gear VR headset which works in collaboration with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 phablet.
That being said, Samsung Mobile USA has released a new promo video / ad for the Gear VR. What is it about? Well, a guy goes around town and asks people to try out the Gear VR, their reactions are… well, expected, considering they’re seeing virtual reality for the first time ever. Reactions go from “This is too real!” and “You’re really immersed in it.” to “Almost feels like you can touch it.”. The people who tried Samsung’s headset are surprised and interested, it would be best if you check out the video for yourself though, it is embedded below this article.
Best Buy has announced yesterday that the GearVR headset is available for purchase in the U.S. for $199 (keep in mind that you’ll need the Galaxy Note 4 as well if you intend to use this thing though). This virtual reality headset still needs content, that’s for sure, but I have no doubt that the content will come with time. I haven’t had the chance to try out the GearVR, same can be said for the Oculus Rift, but I’m looking to do that soon in order to see what’s it all about.
If you’d like to find out more about the Gear VR, make sure to check out our Gear VR coverage. Also, let us know what you think of these virtual reality gadgets including both the Oculus Rift and the Gear VR. Have you tried either one of those and do you think this is the future (of gaming)?
