LG has released company’s 2014 financial results recently, and they are doing great, really great in fact. Their annual profit has doubled in 2014 and they’ve sold almost 60 million smartphones in 2014. One of the most important factors in those sales and profit was definitely company’s current flagship (not counting the G Flex 2), the LG G3. This is a great device, LG really did an awesome job designing this thing, its software could still be improved in my humble opinion, but it’s a great phone overall. That being said, its successor, the G4, is due to arrive in the following months, and we’ve already seen a bunch of rumors regarding that phone.
We have some new info to share with you now though. A new LG handset, carrying the LG-VS999 model number, has been spotted in a leaked document. This model is supposed to be Verizon Wireless’ version of the device by the way (the G3 was LG-VS985), and according to the screenshot down below, the phone will feature a 3K display, 2880 x 1620 in resolution, which is just crazy. As a reminder, the LG H810 was spotted a couple of days ago, which is believed to be the AT&T model, and that device is featuring the same 2K panel as its predecessor. Is it possible that there will be two completely different G3 models?
Take all of this with a pinch of salt though, 2K seemed like an overkill when the G3 launched, and I still believe it is, so this 3K display seems really fishy. I’m sure that we’ll see a ton more rumors and reports in the coming weeks, but this sure sounds interesting. I really doubt that LG will do something like this, doesn’t make much sense to me, but who knows. Speaking of which, what is your opinion on all this, do you think this 3K business is actually real? What specs would you like the G4 to sport in the end? Let us know what you think in the comments, we’d love to hear from you, as always.
