One of the leading indicators for new devices that are in the pipeline and on their way to market is the import data listing for India via the Zauba web site. Manufacturers ship devices there for testing which results in an entry in the database. The latest example of this is an entry dated December 17, 2014 for a sample Samsung device with model number SM-G920F. That model number is believed to be for the next flagship device from Samsung, the Galaxy S 6 smartphone.
The final digit “F” included in the model number is an indicator that the particular device is intended for European markets. The Zauba database entry lists the device that was shipped as being for “R&D Purpose” and for evaluation. As part of the shipping manifest, Samsung indicates the value of the device is 18,938 Indian Rupees (about $300 USD).
Anyone out there waiting to see what Samsung releases next in their Galaxy line of smartphones in hopes of buying one when available?
