Introducing Wanderlust, our new section on travel 3Sixty° that’s all about making travel a little bit more personal. See where your friends have gone and discover places to visit on your next trip.
You can access Wanderlust via the main menu on the travel 3Sixty° homepage or through the Wanderlust widget at the bottom of the Destinations and article pages. But hang on, don’t go just yet! Here’s a little tour.
HOW IT WORKS
Wanderlust crawls through public geo-tagged posts from social networks and arranges the results in a grid. Clicking on Wanderlust on the main menu or anywhere on the widget will open the Wanderlust main page. We recommend signing on to Facebook Connect so that you can view your friends’ and friend of friends’ geo-tagged photos.
Type in a city name or choose one from the dropdown list on the search bar to get started. Hit the search icon and see what appears! (More often than not, it will be good stuff from people you know.)
LIKE IT, PIN IT, RATE IT!
So you’ve found interesting places on Wanderlust. A café or a great spot for a selfie, perhaps? Here’s what you can do.
- LIKE Show that you like a place by clicking on the heart icon.
- PIN Some people pin their travel plans to a corkboard, while others keep scrapbooks and lists. Take your inspiration board online and never miss a thing with the Pin feature, which saves a place for future reference under My Pins.
- REVIEW Clicking on the photo will take you to the map and other photos of the place by other users. If you’ve been there before, help out fellow travellers by taking a few seconds to rate and review places on Wanderlust.
BUILDING YOUR BOARD
Collect Pins around a certain theme by creating a Board, which you can label and make public, if you like. You can always return to your Boards via the My Boards link.
BROWSE WORRY-FREE
Thinking twice about connecting? Wanderlust only crawls publicly shared data. Your reviews and ratings can be seen by others, but your Boards and Pins are only visible to others if you opt to share them.
On your next visit to Wanderlust, don’t be surprised if you’re automatically signed in. You can access your Boards and Pins on the Wanderlust page or direct from the dropdown menu on travel 3Sixty°’s homepage.
