As we head into the holidays tomorrow morning and in the coming week with New Year’s Eve, there’s likely going to be many shared memories and plenty of family fun, special moments, and photographs, home movies, and all manner of things you’ll surely want to preserve for as long as you possibly can. In today’s technological age, there’s almost no better way to take on the holidays than with all the fancy tech that we have available at our fingertips. Here are some ways you can use that tech to your advantage in immortalizing all those awesome holiday moments and share them with friends and family, or just look back on them whenever you need a pick me up.
As we mentioned above, photos taken with your smartphone are going to be a great way for you to capture all the best moments during the holiday season, and you know some of you are going to be posting up pics to Instagram whether it be of your favorite holiday gift or those oh so cute holiday decorations. While pictures stored in the cloud is a great way to keep them backed up, there’s just something about a physical printed picture that just says it all, and you can seek to print out your holiday photos with a nifty little app called PostalPix, which will allow you to select and print images you want saved and then have them sent out to your address. We also mentioned home movies, a great way to look back at all the fond moments with friends and family. With an app like Fly Video you can edit those home movies like you were born to do it, with features like professional video cuts, dissolves, split screens, music adds, narration and more.
Another Instagram compatible option called Artifact Uprising allows you to create photo books of all your Instagram photos, made from recycled paper(so it’s environment friendly too)and the service is capable of being connected directly to your Instagram feed so you don’t have to worry about doing the heavy lifting and uploading the images. If you like creating digital stories like what you can find with the HTC ZOE camera feature, then you’ll want to take a look at Storypress, a service that offers you a way to create personal stories by recording videos, adding in photos, and adding audio and fusing them all together into one short video piece of magic. Lastly, you can also use a service called Weeva which is more or less like Storypress allowing you to create some special family moments in the form of digital photos and text. Weeva also works to collectively gather photos and text creation from family members too so the story creations are a set of moments from everyone and not just yourself, resulting in something truly awesome. Now get out there and make some memories, and enjoy the holiday season.
