From as low as 49 sen per day, your phone can now be insured by Ingram Micro Cover Plus – Essential, an insurance plan for smartphones underwritten by Zurich Insurance Malaysia. This plan will provide insurance coverage for smartphones from accidental damages.
Starting from December 1st, Ingram Micro will be launching the new Cover Plus - Essential insurance plan in Malaysia.
Basically, the plan will come with the benefits below:
- 3 months extension to manufacturer's warranty
- unlimited claims for repairs and replacements
- coverage of accidental damage repair
- all repair services guaranteed for 3 months
- replacement service of unrepairable devices up to RM3,500
- 2-day turnaround time for device replacement
- 7-day turnaround time for device repairs
For any damaged smartphones under this insurance policy, free pick up and delivery of your smartphone will be provided as part of the repair or replacement claim.
In addition, if you were hospitalised for more than seven days, Ingram Micro will settle your phone bills up to RM1,000.
If anything happened to the insured smartphone, there's a technical hotline that is reachable on the weekdays from 8am to 8pm.
This plan also comes with Trend Micro mobile antivirus subscription to protect your device against malware. However, it should be noted that the plan does not cover theft, and it is only available for smartphones.
Customer get to choose from five Cover Plus – Essential plans, where the annual fee are based on the device's RRP. Besides there will be an excess fee charged for every repair and replacement made.
