Rumors of new Apple and OnePlus devices are reaching the inter webs. Pebble is also stealing some of the thunder with an awesome deal.
iMacs with Retina Display could launch soon
Apple laptops are getting Retina Displays left and right, a feature that used to be exclusive to mobile devices. No device would take more advantage of a super high-definition display than the bigger ones, and it seems Apple is ready to give iMacs some love.
9to5 Mac’s sources claim they know about, and have tested the new iMacs with Retina display. These are said to come with a very similar design, but improved specs. Faster processors and improved WiFi antennas would be part of the upgrade.
The resolution will be quite insane, actually. If these rumors are true, the new iMacs will have 6400x3600p, 5760×3240p and 4096×2304p screens. These are in their final testing stages, which means we will likely see them launch sooner rather than later.
Opinion: These will be amazing computers for image and video editors, as well as anyone who can appreciate the fine detail of a super high-definition display. I just worry how well iMacs will be able to handle pushing so many pixels.
OnePlus 2 to be released during Q2 or Q3 of 2015
Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions are not only fun, but they often bring us techies some awesome bits of information. Carl and David from OnePlus just revealed their plans for the OnePlus 2 release, for example!
It seems the upcoming device will be released sometime between Q2 and Q3 of 2015. Oh, and if you thought the OnePlus One was too darn big, you may not be alone. OnePlus mentions users have been complaining about that, and that they “hear you” and are considering a smaller device.
Opinion: OnePlus didn’t want to tell us much about their OnePlus 2 plans when we were at their headquarters. With rumors spreading and the time nearing, it seems they have now changed their minds.
Pebble now only $99.99 from Best Buy
If you have been itching for a new smartwatch you should probably consider the Pebble. Not only is this one of our very favorite smartwatches around, but its price has received a significant cut at Best Buy.
The popular electronics retailer is now selling the basic Pebble smartwatches for only $99.99, as opposed to the original $149.99 price. We are not sure if this price cut is permanent or temporal, so we would try to get it as soon as possible.
Opinion: I have been using one of the limited edition, colorful Pebble devices for some time now, and must say it’s among the best smartwatches I have used. It has an amazing battery life and it does what you need it to. No bells and whistles, just pure functionality.
