The New LG QNED Mini LED TVs Arrive In The US Next Month

After officially announcing its QNED Mini LED TVs last year, LG has finally giving us an update on when we can buy them in the US. And the answer is, July.

Though the company has still not given us a specific date in July, that does narrow it down. And July is literally right around the corner.

These QNED TVs will sit just below their OLED lineup, so you can expect them to be a bit more affordable. But still not ultra cheap, after all this is Mini LED, which is not cheap.

LG has not yet provided pricing on the QNED Mini LED TVs in the US, however B&H Photo already has the QNED90 65-inch 4K model up for pre-order and it is listed at $1,997. While the 75-inch is $2,997 and the 86-inch is $3,997. B&H Photo also has the QNED99 8K models up for pre-order with the 65-inch at $3,497, 75-inch at $4,797, and the 86-inch at $6,497. So there’s a considerable price jump there as you’d expect.

These QNED TVs are very promising, some may prefer them over OLED

QNED or Mini LED is a bit of a strange option for LG’s lineup. That’s because it’s not quite on the level of OLED, but it does blend some characteristics from OLED as well as LED. These Mini LED TVs use a lot more tiny LEDs, with some of these TVs using up to 30,000. It also sports more dimming zones, which allows QNED to offer deeper blacks and also offer more contrast, compared to regular LED TVs.

These also offer up more brightness than OLED TVs. Which is one of the only things it does better than OLED. Contrast and black levels won’t be quite as good as OLED though.

As far as features go, these all have the features you’d expect in a high-end TV launching in 2021. That includes brightness levels up to 3,000 nits. As well as HDR support for HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. There’s also Dolby Atmos for some great audio. All of these TVs also come with 120Hz native refresh rates, along with AMD FreeSync Support.

The higher-end 8K models will also come with 120Hz Dolby Vision gaming support.
